Dropzone - Page 2 Empty Re: Dropzone

Post by Travis Traxler July 27th 2011, 12:23 am

It had been a long walk from Los Angeles but the car that he had stolen and then wrecked about a mile down the road had been pretty interesting for about ten minutes until he realized he would have to start walking again. So he flagged down another driver, without wearing his mask for obvious reasons, a woman and asked her if he could get a ride in the direction of SeaCove City, when she was not sure where that was the villain snapped her neck and removed her from the car. Again he drove in the direction he believed his destination was in until he again crashed the car into another vehicle going in the opposite direction and he followed that pattern of events until he could see the walls towering above the relatively level field. Things looked interesting to say the least, which was always a good thing to the evil man.

Once he came to the gate and looked at the guards who in turn looked at the strange man, that was now wearing his mask. “I’d like to come in now,” before he was even done with his sentence the men began to push him this way and that leading him to a tent just inside the gate, the guards were beginning to get him angry with how they were treating him and he was about to turn around and break three of the soldiers ribs until he saw that the flap to the meeting room was now in front of him. Inside the meeting room was a nice layout with what appeared to be some sort of picture area and a book to sign his name in.

“I’ll need you to sign your name and we’ll take your picture so we can put it with the file,” the soldier said with a quiver in his voice, it seemed the boy had never done many dealings with supers of any kind let alone villains. Without saying a word, since there was really nothing to say, Mister Reaper walked over to the book and quickly jotted down his name, using the penmanship of a four year old. The man was almost unequalled in fighting ability but writing had never been something that interested him. The soldier looked at the name and he looked to be putting some odd numbers together, “Gary Grinnes, that name sounds familiar.” He scratched his head in thought and for a moment his fear left him.

“Do you know of the killer known as ‘Walking Death’?” the villain asked the soldier. “That was my name some time ago,” was all he said as he walked over to the spot to get his picture taken, without removing his mask so they still would not know his face being that it was one of the few secrets he kept somewhat safe.

The soldier’s color drained from his face and he began to quiver even more violently then before as realization struck him, making a small puddle on the ground where he stood. Mister Reaper smiled a small smile, it was always nice to be known for your work, and fortunately the photographer was not nearly as scared, taking the picture with no fuss. As he walked out of the room with the two men, and the other armed guards, but the piss stained soldiers drew up the courage to ask one more question, “What are you doing here?”

Mister Reaper stopped for a short moment and gave a short answer without turning, “It sounded like you guys needed a killer or two and I’ve never been a hero before.” He paused a moment to think, his smile only getting wider, and continued, “This whole adventure sounds fun.”

Dropzone - Page 2 Empty Re: Dropzone

Post by Guest July 27th 2011, 12:38 am

I'm burning through the skies Yeah!
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm trav'ling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man of you

Nightkill hummed while listening to the song on his IPod and walking through the checkpoint. He had gotten a ride from the military, and didn't argue. He could handle the majority of them with ease, and after carefully examining the situation, he had decided to go along with it. His butler Azad also argued to be able to come, saying that he was still capable of holding a gun and pulling his own, but Nightkill turned him down. If this proved risky, somebody needed to take care of Amy and handle his businesses. The butler reluctantly agreed. Nightkill smiled, remembering the conversation. His butler had argued fiercely, saying that Nightkill was even older than him, and he was going. Nightkill had to remind the man that unlike him, who was 70 and looked it, the 90 year old alien cyborg was still as flexible and endurable as a 30 year old.

How long can I live? he wondered. He was 90, and didn't feel any signs of growing old yet. He took some medicine and adjusted his mechanical parts, and he was going fine. Which is good. he gave a grim chuckle. He knew that by the standards of many, he was not precisely a good person. He was afraid of death. But luckily, he was careful enough to avoid death. Generally. He had died twice in his long life. Generally people only died once. Nightkill had no intention whatsoever of dying a third time. He enjoyed life. He still needed to accomplish his goal of becoming leader of the Earth, and pacifying the human race as a kind, powerful, strict and benevolent ruler.

Don't stop me don't stop me don't stop me
Hey hey hey!
Don't stop me don't stop me
Ooh ooh ooh (I like it)
Don't stop me have a good time good time
Don't stop me don't stop me

Queen. Always a classic. Freddie Mercury was amazing, even nearly four decades after his death. Nightkill had personally met the man once. Found him to be quite the affable sort. Amazing vocalist. The two of them had actually sung Another One Bites the Dust together at a concert. He still had the footage on one of his computers at home.

He saw the military men sending him through the gateway looking slightly disturbed. For good reasons. He was in his alternate scorpion villain form. These people didn't know about the good deeds of Seth Khan, they knew about the monstrous deeds of Nightkill, one of the most dangerous villains on the planet, and on the FBI's Most Wanted list. And the M16's. And the KGB's. And the ISI's. And the various Indian and Chinese intelligence agencies. Seth Khan was adored by all these nations. Except perhaps Pakistan. At least they didn't know he effectively kick-started the current bloody Indo-Pakistani War, or his reputation would be even worse. He shuddered to think what would happen if people heard about that.

These double lives were so irritating. He gave a nod to the military man escorting him through, and then he was in the Dropzone. interesting. He saw the soldiers in the area straightening up, far more alert than before. Having Nightkill here was like inviting Charles Manson and the Joker to your birthday party. Nightkill gave a hideous grin, amused by this. He wondered if he could get surgery and alter this appearance to something more convient. Even if he were a so-called hero, people had difficulties seeing a giant ugly scorpion thing as a reliable person.

He was certain most here would recongize him, and as he looked around, he saw a few heroes and villains he knew. Most were new mysteries though. That didn't mean they could be shrugged aside. He would need allies in this place, and it was unlikely he would find many.

Whoever said there was no such thing as bad publicity deserved to be choked to death on a CD of the Passion of the Christ.

Wasn't that a smash hit movie?

Damn. Alright, whoever said there was no such thing as bad publicity deserved to be choked to death on Mel Gibson.

Dropzone - Page 2 Empty Re: Dropzone

Ah hotdogs, what a wonderful invention made by the humans, was the thought of a certain feathery-winged man that chowed down on a hotdog in the back alleys of L.A. His mouth was uncovered, revealing a rather large mouth filled with long, sharp, serrated, dagger-like teeth and a long snake-like tongue that dripped with green saliva. The almost completely human-looking being in the alleys eagerly chowed down on the food he just purchased, almost seeming to not notice the dead bodies of a few gangsters that tried, and failed, to mug him of his money. The only injuries he inflicted on them were snapped necks since he was in a good mood today and wasn't going to let a couple of idiots get in the way of his good mood. As he finished the hotdog, he wiped his lips and hands away of any crumbs or ketchup he might have on them with a napkin before stuffing it in one of the dead gangster's mouth as an insult to them, using him as a trash can. This man was almost unknown to the world, especially concerning his dark heritage, the teenager named Samael, Vengeance to his enemies. He then placed his leather veil over his face and walked out of the alley as he cracked his neck.

He stopped in his tracks as he heard from two cops discussing a place called 'Seacove City'. Apparently, there was something there that was attracting quite a lot of attention, from both heroes and villains alike. He listened in for more details but they weren't saying anything about what it was exactly that was drawing the heroes and villains of the world, or perhaps just the U.S.A to be more humble, to that specific place. At first, he was curious but then waved it off as because it was probably going to be something that he had no need for. He turned away and was about to go about his daily schedule when he heard the very name of the person he hated most in this world, Pain, being mentioned by one of the cops. He stopped and listened in some more as they talked about how whatever was there had attracted even Pain to Seacove City. He grinned underneath his veil evilly when he learned that there was a chance Pain would be there. If it meant finally finding that man and killing him for what he did to his father, he was there. He started flapping his wings and took off into the air, heading in the direction of Seacove City after he learned the location of the place from the cops who were stilling conversing about said city.

While others were either walking towards the seacove or being drove there, Samael was flying there. This person was Samael, the unknown offspring of the Big Bad, one of the world's greatest and legendary supervillains, Chaos. The leather clad pale 17 year old was watching as the sights went by as his black feathery wings flapped in the wind. He was in a big hurry to get over to the seacove. Why was that? He had heard that Pain was possibly going to be there and he wanted to set up shop early so he could lure the world's greatest hero into a trap and kill him. *Pain, I will destroy you for killing my father* he thought to himself sinisterly as he saw he was approaching his destination.

The shirtless, for obvious reasons concerning his wings, muscular teenager touched down on the ground and looked at his surroundings, taking in all the sorts of people that have gathered around the place. So far, he couldn't see Pain anywhere, which made him frown but he secretly hoped that that would change soon. He was gonna make sure that man was destroyed for what he did to his father. He had always wanted to know who his father was and he was robbed of that now that that bastard killed his father. It was windy out and it caused his long, silky black hair to blow in the wind as the 6 foot, 200 pound grandson of the king of darkness looked around the area, taking in his surroundings and all the other people there with his purple colored eyes. As usual, a black leather veil was wrapped around his mouth, concealing the hidden demonic deformity that lay behind it. The leather clad heir to all evil stood there in the shadows, mostly out of sight of the other people as he patiently waited for the Big Man himself to come.

Dropzone - Page 2 Empty Re: Dropzone

“Why are you doing this?” the woman’s voice on the phone demanded in a tone that was full of both anxiety and annoyance. The youth holding the phone sat on her bed painting her toe nails carefully, phone being held in place by her shoulder pushing against her ear, her head cocked to the side at a weird angle so she could hear the woman who had been her mother figure while keeping an eye on the deadly polish. It wasn’t actually deadly, Gracie just hated the fact it got on everything and didn’t come off. The young girl sighed and scrunched her nose up slightly at the question. In honest fact she had no idea why she was doing this.

“Because… Because I should, ya’ll think this… these powers are a curse, but maybe they are a gift, maybe I just need to figure out how to use them to make the world better, that’s what He would want anyway,” she said firmly. Maybe what she was saying was true, maybe God had given her these gifts to help her, or for her to help others. There was a frustrated sigh from the other end of the phone and Gracie smiled, carefully setting her foot on the floor with the left one and put them under the foot fan she’d picked up on a stall. Her nails should be dry soon.

“Sister Martha I’ll be fine, really I will. I haven’t taken your gift off yet and nothing really super bad has happened to me,” Gracie Daniels said smoothly. Of course, nothing really super bad happened in her opinion but in the Nuns mind, being in a fight with a shadow manipulator, beating a guy up and witnessing someone be murdered and not telling the cops was probably really super bad. The old woman mumbled in a string of latin, some phrase from the old testament if Gracie was remembering it correctly. Of course she probably was right, Gracie hardly forgot anything she read, it was one of her gifts and unfortunately she’d read the bible multiple times. If she was right it was a line from when God was speaking to Cane.

“Sister, please, you have to trust me,” Grace begged and frowned, now holding the phone in her left hand, wriggling her dry toes she yanked on her socks with her spare hand while listening to the reply.

“I do Grace-Marie, I do,” the old woman sighed. “Have you packed everything?” the old mothering tone was back and Gracie smiled, shoving her feet into her comfy army boots and glancing to the ratty back pack she had brought with her all the way from Arizona.

“Yeah I am, all packed and ready to go, my ride should be here in a bit as well so I better get going,” Gracie smiled slightly to herself, imagining how the Sister was holding the phone in her firm grip, her black clothes hanging off of her so only her faced, creased with worry, and her hands, which tangled themselves nervously in the phone wire, were on show. There was a satisfied noise from the other end of the phone and then a hidden warmth seeping into the old woman’s voice.

“Very well Grace… I wish you the best of luck in your travels and may God be with you,” Sister Martha said after clearing her throat which was beginning to clog up with unbidden emotion. Gracie heaved the bag on her shoulder and made her way out of the apartment, locking the door behind her and with a small sigh and smile she spoke her final words.
“I love you Sister,” the phone went dead in her hands and Gracie slid the phone into one of her combat pockets. She made her way downstairs, dumping her key on the desk and stepping outside into the Chicago heat. Finding her dad in the Windy city was going to have to wait until she’d kicked some butt down in SeaCove. The unwanted question of ‘would she come out of this alive’ slipped into her mind but she pushed it to the side and went through another mental list of what she had with her.

Gracie was wearing her hipster low riding combats tucked into the knee high army boots which were buckled up firmly and tightly, concealing in them some of Grace’s weapons like the metal spikes which jutted out of them when she pressed a button. She was wearing a black vest top tucked into the combats with a thick dark brown belt tied around her hips. Her guns were in her backpack but it was pretty obvious there was a space for them on her belt as well as a few other gadgets. Over the top she wore her army jacket which provided warmth and more storage space. Gracie’s hair was curly for once, her natural hair. Sleek black curls fell everywhere normally but at the moment it was scraped back into one long waterfall pony tail of midnight waves. Grace only had to wait for a minute before her taxi pulled up outside and she slipped inside, getting comfy for the long trip to SeaCove city.

It was a long trip.

Grace Daniels was so glad to see SeaCove city she had her hand on the handle, ready to jump out as soon as she could. When the taxi stopped she threw the cash towards the driver and then slammed the door shut and rushed towards the entrance, dancing in and out of the pile up of cars. She wasn’t going to wait in this queue when her feet could get her into the place quicker. Sure enough soon she had stepped into the queue and was chewing her lip rather nervously. The blonde haired woman in front of her in full leathers gave her a smile of encouragement when she glanced over her shoulder. Gracie watched how she handled the men and step through into the unknown, no turning back zone. Grace forced herself to remain calm and tilted her head up slightly as she stepped forward. Being tall for her age obviously had her advantages as the guys didn’t so much as blink. She quickly slid through the gates and then looked around at the building she was in. It wasn’t that good actually, just a building with people milling about. She could feel the energy though and it made her head spin. Carefully she picked her way to the edge of the crowd and tried to gain her bearings. So much energy in one place was making her giddy. Gracie glanced to the door which was a simple one way street. You come in but you don’t go out.

Well, no turning back now.

Dropzone - Page 2 Empty Re: Dropzone

Post by BlackOut July 27th 2011, 9:44 pm

It had been less than a day since BlackOut first heard the President’s historic address to the nation. It was a monologue that included a desperate plea to the super human community for assistance. Now in the last leg of his cross-country trip to SeaCove city Black soared high above the ground toward the area that had been the center of the country’s probably even the world’s attention for the last few days. He was in full costume, aside from his mash which he had safely tucked away in a small duffle bag that was slung over his back. It had a few essentials: water, street clothes, cash. He wasn’t sure what exactly he would need.

Okay the exit should be coming up” he said to himself as he stared down at the blue GPS guided line that cut through his cellphone’s screen. He then glanced back down to the highway that he was following from above. Seeing the exit he looked ahead to see a set of towering wall that cut through the landscape. “I assume that’s where I’m headed" he said under his breath flying toward the landmark.

Drawing closer and closer Black could now see the entire compound. The military had a dominating presence thousands of troops moved around the area and more seemed to be on there was as he saw a many vehicles nearing the city. Black swooped in closer and scanned the crowds below it only to seconds to see where he was supposed to be. Rows of metal detector as soldiers led up to an area that was separated from the rest of the camp. Inside the area many people who were obviously now military personnel sat facing a stage.

Just then Black felt a shooting pain in his leg. He had been flying nonstop for far too long without a charging himself or resting, his body was almost totally depleted of electricity and was starting to cramp up. He swiftly changed his focus and stared to look around for the nearest utility pole, he spotted one nearby and glided toward it. Black landed on the top of it and rested he hand on the transformer that was mounted on the pole and started to pull electricity from it into him. He felt the energy flow through his fingertips inward; It was soon followed by a familiar warm sensation that spread thorough every inch of his body.

While he sat on top of the utility pole and allowed his body to charge he watched as more super beings continued to show up. He saw a few that he recognized but most of them he didn’t. Every time it was the same procedure. Through the scanners, which he was unsure what purpose they served as quite a few people had unconcealed weapons that were not taken. After the scanners the super human’s signed in in some kind of ledger and then had their picture taken. “What the hell are they doing documenting us?” he wondered. His hands started to shake and his body started to get restless, he was just about fully charged. Pulling his hand from the transformer sparks jumped from his hand falling to the ground below. Alright he smiled flexed his finger muscles they felt re-energized. All charged and ready to go to work.

Black pulled his duffle around from his back and unzipped the one of the side pockets to retrieved his mask. After smoothing out a few wrinkles from the fabric he pulled it over his head and the straightened it on his face. Pushing the bag back around to his back he stood up and dropped down from the utility pole and fell toward the ground. He let out a short burst of electricity to slow his momentum as he neared the road below and touched down onto the ground softly. Black started to walk toward the super human check point.

Black walked slowly up the road vehicles blew past him on their way to the encampment as well. Black could have flown the rest of the way, but he was not sure what he would be facing on the inside of those walls. He decided that if it was far enough out of the military’s league that superheroes and villains alike were being called upon to help then he wanted to keep himself as charged up as possible in preparation. Besides after flying all the way across the country it was nice to have his feet on solid ground again.

After a few minutes walking Black reached the check in area. There was a short like and he took his place at the back waiting to be put through the check point. There were both heroes and villains waiting to go through and Black
could tell some of them had blood. Black was honestly surprised that the military had not separated the two fractions better. As things were Black was half expecting a brawl to break out at any moment. Really the troops the separated the two groups were not much of a deterrent for these people.

When he was up a soldier came and led Black trough the scanners motioning with his hand that he was good to go through. Passing through the machine he reached the soldier was to who had him sign in. “Sir” he saluted with a slight nervous quiver in his voice as Black approached him “I’m going to need you to sign in here.” Black nodded and reached for the pen scribble down BlackOut with his nearly illegible signature into the ledger. “And now your picture the soldier said showing him where to stand.

Wow, really?” BlackOut said smiling and taking position “I thought I was heading into a warzone not the DMV” he joked sarcastically.

The soldier forced a smile half-heartedly and snapped the photo. “Okay you good to go through” he said, as he moved on to the next person to pass through the scanners.

Black walked from the check point onto the hero side of the area and found a place to stand toward the front of the group. Everyone stood looking to the stage, Black joined them and waited for someone to come on the stage and brief them.

Dropzone - Page 2 Empty Re: Dropzone

Post by Archer Roland July 28th 2011, 1:37 am

The bus was loud, too loud, all the other heroes and a few suspected of being otherwise were either arguing or just trying to talk over the people arguing. Jack was not completely sure why he felt as though he had to come forward for this event that was taking place, after all there would be more than enough heroes there to take care of whatever had happened, most likely even heroes and villains bigger and badder then him. There was one thing that made the trip worthwhile though and that was the fact that there was a chance he might be able to meet his real father. Jack had not known long but if a strange man in a pastry shop could be trusted then it was worth finding out for sure, on top of that it was a better situation than that ‘man’ being his real father, the one that had pretty much thrown him away.

Luckily the bus ride ended, only taking half a day from San Diego where his plane had landed, and the lot of them filed out of the bus, which did not take nearly as long as expected. After that line they got in yet another as they filed in through the large walls that now surrounded the city, Jack had never been to SeaCove City in his life so he was not sure if they were really new or not though they did look it. Once it was his turn he told the soldiers he was a hero to help and he followed them with little more than that. After having his picture taken and signing a book, Jack made his way into the crowd of people that were standing in front of a hastily made stage. Looking to his side he saw that the villains had been put on what seemed to be their own side, a truthfully poor attempt to keep the peace but it seemed to be working for the time being.

All that really mattered to the boy was whether or not the man that could be his father was there, the man known as Pain. He was one of the greatest heroes the world over, it took a lot to be that highly recognized and that would be nice to know that your father had not abandoned you, at least not intentionally anyway. Jack walked over to the side farthest from the villains and sat down by himself, watching everyone that passed and walked around him, hoping that he might be able to spot the man that was supposed to be his father. It was a long shot but any shot looked good at the moment, meeting the man that might not be ashamed of him and could possibly love him was always worth a shot.

“Come on,” the boy said under his breath, “one good thing has got to happen today.” It had been a long day, not a bad day, and one good note to end it on was always appreciated and just seeing the man might just be what the boy needed.

Dropzone - Page 2 Empty Re: Dropzone

Post by Van Helcraft July 28th 2011, 11:22 am

Warren sang along with ' Highway To Hell' which he had playing on the jeep's radio he had bought to carry his ammo for the 'alien hunt' in SeaCove. He had no idea how long they would be there so he decided to fill the jeep with ammo, and spare guns. Sha-La-La sat in the passenger side seat in her usual loli-nun outfit trying to tune out Warren's tone-deaf singing. Finally she'd had enough and turned the radio off saying in an agitated tone," Less singing more driving." Warren couldn't help smiling at her outburst, it was proof that his experimental AI was capable of producing emotions and developing personalities. "When did you develope such a rude behavior?" He asked smiling. "I'm sorry master but you can't sing and you've played that song most of the trip." She said sheepishly, obviously repenting for the outburst.Warren busted out laughing at the remark ,"Well if you had told me that earlier i would have stopped, ther was no need to be rude."

The drive continued in silence for another half hour, before they came within sight of the dropzone. Warren rolled his shoulders before puttting on his mask, he was already wearing the rest of his gear, he had thought it best to be ready incase any fighting broke out.He drove up to the front gate and watched some rather showy person get out of a limosuine. Warren took note of the man who looked like a wannabe mob boss look at the kid who got out of the limo.Hell Warren was surprised to see the kid, but then again his loli-robot was bound to attract more attention then that.People would probably be thinking that he was bringing a child into a war zone.He followed aftert the mob boss looking guy, taking 2 bags of ammo, a bag, and small box filledwith his other weapons. He threw the keys to a nearby guard, "It's full of weapons and such i didn't know how much to bring but you might need to send in more at some point, also stay out of the crates that medicine is hard to make i dont need you breaking any." He said to him.

Warren walked through the metal detector which didn't make a sound, which was odd becuase warren was decked in knives. They must be catalouging our weapons, or is it something else, he thought, note to self check bags for tracers. He laughed imagining the faces of the people who saw Sha-La-La, she was a perfect humanoid robot which by current technoogical means was impossible to create. He was ushered into the meeting room after taking a picture, glad he hadn't had to remove his mask.He noticed a few familiar faces, the chick who had been loaded with knives when a bunch of fire throwing nutjobs started attacking an officer and his brother who were here as well. he stayed off by himself though, he didn't want to be mistaken for a hero, after all he was a freelance fighter who would do what he was hired to do, even if he cared more about having fun than money he had plenty if that.He heard a girl call out to the soldiers that they were the real heroes,he quite agreed with that fact. He was actually trying to mass produce his coat for the U.S. armed forces. The coat is virtually bullet proof only high grade tank peircing rounds can get through it. He may act all tough now but he rembered a time back before he got his powers and gear, hell he still donataed to the USO and alike oraganizations every month.Him and Sha-La-La took some unoccupied seats away from everyone and waited for the conference or whater it was to start.

"This is so fucking stupid." Bliss smashed a cigarette under the heel of her boot. "Why do I have to do this?" Who knows the origin of the cigarette Bliss smashed, but it felt good. A man in fatigues walked towards her and asked a stupid question. Instead of replying Bliss maintained a hard stare and bit hard upon her teeth. "Someone is going to die for this."

Tanks and helicopter's stayed corralled behind a false line of security that came with the plastic barriers. Several voices directed a slew of meta-enhanced humans into different directions. Bliss brought the strap of her bag under the hood of her sweatshirt, and let the bag rest against her skirt. "Let's get this fucking thing over with."

Post by The Black Arrow July 28th 2011, 9:34 pm

When The Black Arrow first heard of the situation going on in SeaCove City from a news report, he immediately had a bad feeling in his gut. Even though they were only minor reports coming in from small town, The Black Arrow just knew there was something wasn’t right. So The Black Arrow did some digging on the city to see what he could find out. It didn’t take much time researching for the phantom to discover the story about the two officers who experienced unexplained electronic malfunction within the city, or the Coastguard and Military reports claiming that any attempt of a birds eye view of the city only caused their machines minor electronic malfunctions. This didn’t settle The Black Arrow’s nerves at all, but he knew he couldn’t just leave Chicago on a bad feeling, so he waited to see of the problem in SeaCove would advance or disappear. Then, hardly a day later the president of the United States and his men sent out a ‘Call to Arms!’ for all superheroes, and even supervillains; Which only made Arrow even more worried and curious about SeaCove City. At this point, The Black Arrow made his way back to The Phantom’s Lair in Chicago and began stocking up on all of his gadgets. The second he found out about the call, he knew he would be one of the few to answer; Now, he just needed to make sure he was ready for whatever mysterious’ lie in store for him at SeaCove City.

Five hours later…

The Black Arrow was now soaring down a long, seemingly endless highway at ridiculous speeds in his bike; Red Scarlet. Swerving in and out of lanes, flying past abandoned cars in this boarded off highway, The Black Arrow was getting closer and closer to reaching his destination. He wasn’t exactly sure what to be expecting at this check point everyone was meeting at; The Black Arrow just hoped he didn’t get caught up in the military’s procegers. He was only going to stop whatever was happening in SeaCove, and had no real interest with the military or their idea of bringing in Supervillains on this mission. It seemed like a terrible idea to him, but that only gave him more reason to be there.

Red Scarlet came to a screeching halt, stopping barely ten feet away from the crowd of people standing outside the checkpoint. He immediately noticed the two lines, clearly separating the heroes from the villains. Red Scarlet’s top then opened up, and The Phantom Arrow stepped out. His eyes then began to scan over the crowd of people. Some familiar faces, some new one, and some far too young to be going in to this hostile of an area. It actually gave Arrow an upset feeling in his as his eyes looked over some of the young heroes. Many of them looked as if they couldn’t even be over eight teen. The Black Arrow closed Red Scarlet’s top, then leant back against it, crossing his arms over his chest as he waited for the man on the stage to finish his speech. Everything he was talking about Arrow had already figured out on his own, so the phantom simply kept quite in the back and held his head low in disappointment. ”How can the military sit back and watch as kids fight their battles…” The Black Arrow did notice that a few faces were missing from the crowd though. Both of the ‘legendary superheroes’ Pain and The Black Knight still had yet to show up. Though Black Arrow didn’t knew they’d be here. There’s no way they’d miss out on this; Besides they were only missing the boring part.

Post by Prometheus July 28th 2011, 10:41 pm

"SeaCove City has become the target of interstellar exploration." Shaking his head James reached down and closed the video his wrist-computer. "These humans certainly have a knack for euphemisms." James sighed as his eyes came to rest on glass partition that separated him from the driver of the car. Leaning his head back and closing his eyes James began to think. "Chances are it isn't my people, they aren't in the habit of taking their time with invasions. Still finally something interesting, they shouldn't be expecting other off worlders --- Though given my history if they know of my people they are just as likely to want to kill me. But, maybe just maybe I can finally find a way off of this backwater world. Though, I would miss the tea." Opening his eyes, James reached down a pulled up his research on the SeaCove situation. "Interesting, electronic malfuctions could be some sort of nullifying field. I wonder if they know what shape it is, you couldn't do it directly but if you took enough images around the area you could track the general shape of the field based on what can't be imaged --- Still probably not given that they are human. Phone lines on one side are cut but not the other so it would imply that the field is only cutting things off at fixed points - still no real evidence to support that but it is my best guess" Looking out the window, James could tell that he was getting close to his destination. Sighing, James reached down and pulled the suit case up from under his seat. Though, an ordinary looking brown leather suitcase that seems inconspicuous it held what was up until very recently some of the limited amount of alien technology on the planet. Entering the combination to suitcase and reaching down with his thumbs to release the biometric locks he slowly opened the suitcase. Slowly he reached down, taking the gadgets and placing them in his suits myriad pockets .

Once again James leaned back and retreated into his thoughts. A sudden slowing and then complete halt brought his attention back to the world at hand. Looking out the window James could clearly see the reason of the sudden halt ----- a rather substantial number of tanks clearly pointed in his direction. Hitting the button to lower the glass partition James casually said "Well, Charles, this will do. Take the car back to the garage - this car is far to expensive to risk having it blown to pieces by some over egger American soldier." Opening the door James quickly hoisted himself out of his seat. Without looking back James began to strolling towards the seeming entrance of the blockade. Looking around at the various vehicles and soldiers in sight James began to shake his head "No wonder they needed to call in the so-called "superheroes and supervillains this is a rather sad excuse for an attempt at planetary defence."

Taking his place in what he assumed was the check-in line given the rag-tag collection of people in the line. He began to survey those infront of him watching as one by one and they walked through the metal detectors, signed their names, and had their photograph taken. Fishing into his left pocket he quickly produced a pen. After a brief wait a solider slowly approached James and said "Follow me sir". Wordlessly James followed the solider through the metal detectors and promptly signed Prometheus in a flowing script. Stepping to the side he impatiently waited as he was photographed. Happy that the rather invasive procedure was finally over Prometheus took up a position towards the back of the room holding a position somewhere behind the line of soldiers dividing what he assumed were the "heroes" from the villains. Looking around he began to analyze the odd collection of people gathered in the room.

The roar of a 392 hemi engine from a 2011 Dodge Charger filled the air on the long stretch of highway that lead too the town that recently captured the attention of all the world, Seacove City. The only reason Rey even considered checking out the extraterrestial threat that had the world's panties in a bunch was for his own selfish gains, Personally he could of cared less if every bit of Earth was blown to smithereens. As long as the aliens had money Rey would gladly consider them friends, but more than likely they would be too busy trying to probe him too buy a gun. Not to mention this would be an amazing chance to see technolgy that would be far more advanced (not to mention worth alot more) than Earth's pathetic equipment.

Scanning the horizon Rey cold see the large quickly assembled defensive force that surrounded the city, this made a uneasy knot form in the pit of his stomach, he had never been one who got along well with authority. As he got closer to the town he could see just how worried the goverment must of been, every where he looked there was either a tank or a group of soldiers armed to the teeth with modern weapons. He could even see a decent sized group of what he assumed to be Supers standing in front of a hastily made stage inside the compound. Parking his recently stolen car near the outskirts of the activity, Rey whistled to a nearby soldier who nervously headed towards the lime green muscle car "Hey kid Merry Christmas" He said in his nicest voice as he threw the set of keys in the kids general direction. Rey could hear the kid start to speak as he climbed out of the car and headed towards the entrance to the town but he couldn't be bothered to listen.

Making his way through the crowd of soldiers Rey was directed towards a metal detector, he slipped through without the thing making so much as a beep due to his weapons being hidden in his magical box, but this didn't seem to matter as no seemed to actually be taking the weapons from anyone who entered. "Look up" A stern battle hardened soldier said to Rey, Looking up he noticed a small camera that flashed the moment he spoted it, he wondered what the point of all this was, it's not like anyone would be capable of identiying him, Rey had his hood up covering most of his face so the only thing showing in the picture would be a toothy evil smile. "Do I look gorgeous?" Rey said in a joking voice as he shepard away from the photographer towards the crowd of Supers.

They seemed to be sectioned off into two groups, Heroes on one side and Villains on the other with a group of soldiers inbetween. Rey scanned the crowds before taking his place towards the back of the group of villains, he didn't recognize anyone really from either side even though it was rumored some of the big named heroes would be here. I expected a more impressive spread Rey thought to himself as he stood patiently waiting to figure out what he was really doing here.

They were late, but it didn’t matter to either of them. The two heroes were pulling in towards the Dropzone, using The Black Knight’s handy vehicle to swiftly fly there. “Too many people.” Was all William said as he lowered down for a smooth landing. He only had a glimpse of the crowd, and didn’t like it one bit. After glancing over to Pain, it was rather obvious he felt the same.

The Black Knight drove straight over the group, getting another look at them. Thanks to his photographic memory, he was able to see far more than most in such a short time. The heroic pair then came down for their landing, making sure to land on the outside of the enclosure. He had been a very skilled pilot, and it was usually an easy landing. It was wise to play along, he saw the security, and would not allow for anything to be taken from him.

William unbuckled himself and exited the vehicle, calmly shutting the door behind him. His masked eyes narrowed in at the enclosure before him, at least Arrow was here; he will be a helpful member to this mission. Black Knight had nothing to say, Pain had been the one to speak up. “Let’s get this over with.” William nodded in agreement, walking towards the enclosure.

The two easily went through security, they hadn’t even asked a question; they were wise to not. The heroic pair stood in the back, standing side by side looking on to the group who had shown up for this ‘Call to Arms’. The Black Knight felt as if very few of them were ready to be in a war, he could only assume his allies felt the same. He made eye contact with Arrow, who had looked backed to him. They simply nodded at one another briefly, their version of a warm welcome. Black Knight looked back to the Big Man standing beside him, simply stating. “They should have let us assemble a team.“

Post by Da Boss July 31st 2011, 11:18 pm

Ivan stepped off his motorcycle and removed his helmet, tossing it carelessly to the hard-packed dirt at his feet, he ran his fingers through his hair, upsetting a few droplets of sweat from his brow which fell to the arid desert, quickly disappearing amongst the sand.

He surveyed his surroundings for a moment, the massive walls of the installation obstructed the view of the city, Ivan had tapped all his resources dry but the only information he had come by was that the facility was shrouded in secrecy and that some sort of call had been put out for supers to investigate.

Ivan immediately knew coming to this place was a bad idea, he deduced that because of the large amount of super powered individuals gathered here and the heavy secrecy surrounding the place that the military must have something in there powerful enough to bring the heroes and villains they had invited into their wake to heel, they had to have something they could use as leverage or insurance.

Ivan spat, that to disappearing into the dusty sand, and he began walking towards the line "Fuck it, This is way to good to pass up" he whispered to himself as he approached the security checkpoint, they waved him through, though he noticed that even though most of the people who had come had weapons and the like, nothing was confiscated, he puzzled over the reason for a second before he decided it had to be some sort of cataloging process rather than actual security, his photo supporting his theory, he looked out over the massive crowd, in the back he noticed two heroes, or perhaps villains? standing side by side next to one another, the first was dressed from head to toe in all black, his cape stirring in the slight breeze, beside him was a massively built and tough looking fellow with a shock of pure white hair, this one had a look about him, what it was Ivan couldn't quite put his finger on, but it seemed as if the man knew more than the others, not more than a few extra breadcrumbs Ivan guessed, but something.

Nonchalantly Ivan made his way to the back and nestled into a space a few paces from the duo, enough so that he could listen to their conversations and read their lips if they tried to remain silent, he had come in a roundabout manner so that he might elude suspicion, but he knew with supers you could never tell, he breathed in deeply, then promptly gagged and had a miniature spastic attack as a small desert beetle took the opportunity to fly into his nose, finally snuffling the little beast out he leaned against the wall with a disgruntled "fuckin bugs"

A vulgar Asian girl stepped in front of Lucy. Rage overcame her senses when the boot heel smashed a cigarette Lucy only moments ago lit. She set it upon the ground so that she could use her hands to incapacitate a guard while he kept his back to her. Smoke trailed up from the ground and into the nostrils of the shapeshifter.

Dr. Cosmos may not like the more savage aspects that Lucy kept, but he still needed her for her unique gifts. This gave her a little more leeway with deaths than some of the other Immortals. At least Lucy justified herself with that line of thinking. Anyways. New plan. That girl died.

Dropzone - Page 2 Empty Re: Dropzone

Post by Archie August 2nd 2011, 9:14 am

The whirling of helicopter blades slowed as they came to a halt; as per usual, the Abnormals were probably the last to arrive. Archibald Adams (also known as “Professor Primate” to the media) was the first to step off the carrier the government sent for the team. He lumbered forward using his knuckles and feet to walk as any ordinary gorilla would but he was no ordinary gorilla; within the brutish animal exterior was the mind of a man, and it was one of the most brilliant in the country. He wore what he considered his “field uniform”: a matching outfit of khaki shorts and a khaki buttondown shirt with the sleeves rolled up past his enormous forearms and a backpack containing a few various items. A gorilla in clothing was likely an odd site to most. Archie didn’t care what the snickering soldiers thought. The clothing made him feel somewhat human. He took note of the large group of super humans segregated by alignment with the law. The group was almost as mismatched as the Abnormals. Almost. He took note that even among such a diverse crowd of people, he and his family were still the unusual ones; it briefly gave him a sense of embarrassment that was quickly overtaken by what was something like a sense of pride. He felt practically proud that his family could even live up to their name here of all places.

When Archie got word of the Seacove invasion, he was among the first to respond. It was the duty of the Abnormals to combat all threats to humankind, especially threats of unknown magic or scientific nature. They were clearly the most prepared to handle whatever extraterrestrial powers were at work here. He could not help his own natural curiosities about the situation at hand in the city, and was equally as eager to study the source of the calamity, be it science or magic, as he was to put a stop to it. He noticed Pain in the crowd and hoped to science that the man would not just smash the thing responsible for this before he could get a chance to study it. He had nothing but respect for the hero but he knew that to be his style. Seeing the darkened figure of the Black Knight hanging over Pain’s side brought some comfort to the contrary.

“Stick close to us now, Aurora.” he spoke over the noise of the crowd to the dryad he’d come to consider family. He would have rather she left her pet at home, but she insisted that the Leonidas accompany the team. Archie hoped she would at least be able to control the cat here as she could around the Manor. He might not have liked that she brought the saber tooth tiger with them, but he reasoned that if they were ever to be separated that at least she would probably have it to look after her.
Whatever happened, Archie was sure the Abnormals could handle it.

Post by Ember_Fangs August 2nd 2011, 3:39 pm

Aurora had never been in a helicopter before, nor had she been on her way to a battle, heading out to defend America and all the people that lived in its rich lands. She couldn’t help but think though that it was going to be a rather good opportunity for someone to attack America full on. If all the superheroes and villains were in one place, who was left to defend the rest of the United States? The thoughts had troubled her all night long and she hadn’t slept a wink. When the Dryad got a problem stuck in her mind that was all she could focus on. However when the morning came she found she wasn’t as upset anymore, of course the US wouldn’t leave them completely undefended, there was obviously superheroes in neighbouring countries that could help out and they had a very good army. Which was very much human … Although she tried to convince herself everything would be okay, Aurora still had a bad feeling about this place. Eventually it was replaced with pure excitement on the matter. She was going into battle for the first time with her family, well, not her real family, she doubted trees would be lurking in SeaCove City, the place had been abandoned for years. No, she meant her Abnormal family, the people she had been staying with for the past year or so and who she had come to love deeply.

Even Archie was coming! Which was a big shock to Aurora, she’d looked genuinely surprised when the big gorilla had said he would be joining them, not that she was upset about that, Archie was the brains of their little trio. Bones was the cunning and spontaneous fighter and Aurora… Well the little dryad had no idea what she brought to the team sometimes except maybe some sort of cheer leader? Aurora mulled over these thoughts as she made her way down the stairs towards the back garden where the chopper had landed, sent by the government, to take them to their location. She blinked at the pilot who was standing beside the chopper, talking to Bones. She wasn’t really that good with humans and was about to flee back into the house when Leo stalked outside and stood beside her, a purr rumbling in his throat. It had been a battle to get the pair to agree to let Leo come with them. The large Sabre Tooth Cat had been rescued by them earlier in the year and hadn’t left Aurora’s side since the moment he’d woken up. She couldn’t bear to go anywhere without him, he had been a large comfort to her since other members of the Abnormals had left or were too busy doing their thing. She gently patted Leo and tangled her soft brown fingers in his fur and leaned on him. Leo would be a big comfort wherever they were going, the cat wouldn’t hurt something which wasn’t seriously dangerous, especially if asked not to. If the family were threatened though… Well. Aurora glanced back to the pilot who was genuinely staring at her now, not the cat which she had thought he had been 10 minutes before. His eyes were wondering over her slim frame and Aurora frowned. Did he think she had a weapon on her or something? She humped and stalked over to where Archie had already clambered in and put a foot on the ladder. The man carefully took her hand and helped her up with a warm smile and Aurora couldn’t help but give him a little smile back. Maybe he was just curious as to what she was. She was about to tell him to end his curiosity and stares when Leon bounded into the helicopter and settled down on the floor with his head in her lap. When she turned back Bones was shutting the door and the man was in the front seat, taking them to SeaCove.

The ride there was boring to say the least and unfortunately Aurora had been stuck in the middle and so couldn’t see anything below. It was probably a good thing as she hated heights but it would have been nice to see the view. Instead she amused herself through the trip by wondering what aliens looked like and playing with Leo’s fur. When they landed Aurora was bubbling with excitement and gone were her sad thoughts and worries. She scrambled after Archie who had been let out first and took the mans outstretched hand – not noticing he hadn’t offered Archie a hand and the fact he was looking at her oddly – and jumped down onto the ground. Aurora was wearing a pair of kharki shorts and a loose baggy blouse like top tucked in to her shorts, ruck sack slung over her shoulder. Her auburn hair was tied up with leaves poking out here and there, her green eyes flicking around the people.
“Wow…” she breathed and then grinned at Archie. “Relax!” she bounded ahead of the gorilla who was already getting a stern look on his face. She gave him a kiss on the check and then made her way towards the men, moving through quickly followed by Leo. The guards took a sharp intake of breath and there was an actual click of a gun but Aurora just waved a hand.
“Leo’s fine, he wouldn’t hurt a fly, come on kitty,” she said and the big cat, casting one long, warning look at the men, padded after the 4ft 9 creature at his towering height of near 5ft 10. It really was going to be a fun trip!
