Personality:

Nathaniel isn’t a bad guy, he just isn’t particularly good either. He’ll do pretty much anything (save murder, in most cases) to get what he wants, and what he wants is usually money or knowledge. Power holds little allure with him, as most people bore him, and ruling over them would be boring by extent. Has a great love for sarcasm and (occasionally dark)humor.

History:

Sometime in the late Fall of 1531,a French merchant and a Swiss maid produced a child. Christened Nathaniel, the child had a relatively normal life at the time, being raised at his father’s modest estate in Savoy. He grew up around the Church, both of his parents being traditional, devout Catholics, and was an altar boy from a young age. By 15, he was travelling with his father to the Middle East, learning the intricacies of his father’s business.

At age 27, Nathaniel was travelling through Eastern Russia, and went with a guide over the Ural Mountains. He had recently taken over his late father’s trade, and was enjoying the wealth that came with it. However, Mother Nature discriminates not between the rich and the poor. A winter storm of extraordinary proportions struck with virtually no warning, forcing the pair to take shelter in an almost Deus ex Machina-esque cave.

The storm raged on throughout the night, giving way in the morning, dissipating within minutes of sunrise. Upon leaving the cave, Nathaniel discovered two stones outside the entrance, both nearly transparent, with a very pale blue tincture. He lifted them up to examine them. One burned his hand, the other filled it with a cold so intense it was essentially a burn as well. The rocks shattered, and from within emerged two figures; a tall, slender woman with fair skin and blonde hair, and a man of similar build with olive skin and black hair. They identified themselves, the woman being named Skadi, the man Perun. Skadi informed Nathaniel of (and showed) her powers to control ice, Perun his affinity for controlling electricity. His guide emerged from the cave and explained that he was a member of a cult that worshipped these two as Gods, and planned a way to bring about their return to power.

Skadi and Perun had been imprisoned in the mountains for several centuries by a shaman, unable to move beyond the mountains’ borders. The only way they could leave was by possessing a human host, however their hosts soon burned alive, their forms too weak to hold the Gods. They needed someone with magical affinity, and had sent many of their followers out to find suitable subjects. Nathaniel was one such individual, being twenty-seven, a prime age for occult related matters, and, while he was an only child, both his parents were the seventh children of their families.

The Gods proposed a deal to Nathaniel (as they couldn’t just inhabit his body, for their hosts had to willingly invite them in). They would grant him essential immortality (he wouldn’t age, and if he died then he would resurrect within twenty-one days) for either four hundred ninety-nine years, or upon his ninth death, whichever came first, and he would be able to manipulate ice and lightning, like their respective abilities. In return, when the five hundred years was up, or after he had died nine times, they would be freed from his body, ready to wreck havoc on the world again. In the process he would be killed, but only after living several lifetimes.

He agreed, something that when he looked back on would seem rather hasty. He faked his own death, leaving behind the small fortune, and travelled out to the New World, where there would be little chance of any past business partners recognizing him. Other than the occasional skirmish and accusation of being a witch, he has faced little trouble in his new life(lives), and has devoted the past few decades in search of a way to get out of his side of the deal and not die.

The Powers

Power 1:Cyrokinesis (8 ABI) Nathaniel can create and manipulate water with his mind, though only if it is below 32 Degrees Fahrenheit. The ice can be used both offensively, such as in icy blasts and in a lightning-esque shape, and defensively, forming ice-shields and constructs, though these are sensitive to heat. Unlike mundane ice, which is usually clear, this ice is plae blue, and can reach extremely low temperatures.

Power 2:Electrokinesis (8 ABI)-Nathaniel can create and manipulate electrically charged atoms, and by combining the atoms he can control electricity, from small shocks to the whole lightning shebang. Like the ice the electricity has a pale blue hue, and can reach extraordinary temperatures.

Power 3: Knowledge of the Supernatural (6 OCC)-As a result of his familiarity with Skadi and Perun, along with his travels and search for a way out of his deal, Nathaniel has extensive knowledge of the occult work.
