The Looks

Daji is physically petite and lightweight with a youthful complexion. Her hair is often tied up in an elaborate braid and she will often find clothing that is both comfortable and appropriate for her particular style of fighting..which sometimes involves seducing her opponent. She usually wears silken robes, loose fitting oriental clothing and her signature crimson lipstick.

The Legacy

Personality:An intellectual mastermind hidden behind a cunning and ruthless front; Daji is a warrior who fights for the thrill of the battle, though the reasoning behind her drive is one of vengeance. Betrayed by her lover a millennia ago she has become hateful towards a majority of the male population and will not hesitate if presented with a chance to fight with a powerful male. As a result of her seething dislike for the male sex she has turned her twisted affections to the female sex…although she refuses to acknowledge her lesbian tendencies as anything remotely noticeable. She likes inflicting pain on her foes and will only destroy them if she has to, preferring to watch them suffer for her own sadistic pleasure. She has some femme fatale elements, as she will often make provocative and suggestive remarks toward her enemies regardless of their gender. She possesses a strong, sensual figure, but is cunning and a somewhat sadistic fighter with an urge to cause destruction to her most hated enemies. She also gets quite bothered if an enemy attacks her while she is talking, deeming it rude and direct attack to her pride. She is also very determined, willing to go through any means necessary to defeat her opponents.

Daji is a calculating woman, callous to her foes at times, and treats her allies as pawns if needed. Her personality, particularly against men at times, can be compared to a female spider, willing to kill off men for her general distrust towards them. Despite her personality, she will give her opponents a chance to flee or leave if she deems them unworthy to fight with her. Surprisingly her insanity masks an intelligent, calculating and highly perceptive mind, one that is capable of matching or even surpassing the smartest men on earth. There is only one thing that Daji truly appreciates and that is animals (other than the female body of course), an almost innocent and honorable obsession of hers. She refuses to eat meat and will often go out of her way to protect animals even if it results in harming, or possibly killing, humans that get in her way.

History: Throughout Chinese folklore Daji stands out as the woman who became the catalyst for the fall of a great empire. One of the first antagonistic females to grace Asian mythology Daji stood out as one of the most significantly sadistic femme fatales to ever cross the legends of old. Many tales state she was once King Zhou’s favorite concubine and that she became possessed with a powerful demon or that she was raised from humble beginnings and eventually turned into a bloodthirsty murderous woman. Although there are varying tales of her origin they all provide a distinct portrayal of Daji and what she is; A woman who is consumed by her own sadistic curiosity and malevolence, one which made mortal men swoon and powerful kings shatter...a harbinger of bad luck.

The most accurate tale goes somewhat like this...King Zhou, a powerful ruler during 1075 BC – 1046 BC was a man who had been given over to drinking, women, sex and a lack of morals. This was all mainly due to his obsession and infatuation with Daji, one of his concubines. He became so engrossed with her beauty and allure that he started to neglect state affairs in order to keep her company. He used any means necessary to ingratiate himself with her and to please her for example, upon discovering that Daji liked animals, he built her a zoo, filled to the brim with exotic animals from every corner of the globe. He also ordered artists to compose lewd music and choreograph bawdy dances to satisfy her musical taste, which many even till this day would consider particularly heinous.

As her influence over the king became stronger a supernatural evil took hold of her, possessing her and causing her bad traits to become evil. Upon discovering that his wife was now more than just a pretty woman, rather a pretty woman possessed with otherworldly abilities King Zhou plotted events to appease his bloodthirsty wife. One night he gathered 3000 guests at one party to indulge in his "pond of wine" and "forest of meat" which involved the guests to play a cat and mouse game in the nude in the forest to amuse Daji. Once the sun had set into the west, and all of the guests were heavily intoxicated, they would be caught by the kings guard and beaten to a bloody pulp and secretly fed to Daji as to ease her need for human flesh to survive.

It is said that Daji's greatest joy was to hear people cry in physical torment. Once, she saw a farmer walking barefoot on ice and ordered his feet cut off so she could study them and figure out why they were so resistant to low temperatures. On another occasion, she had a pregnant woman's belly cut open so it satisfied her curiosity to find out what happened inside, often playing games during such 'appointments', trying to guess the sex of the child. To verify an ancient saying that "a good man's heart has seven apertures", she even had the heart of the minister Bi Gan (King Zhou's uncle) dug out and subjected to her fertile scrutiny and twisted curiosity.

Daji was best known for her invention of a method of torture known as Paoluo. A bronze cylinder covered with oil was heated like a furnace with charcoal beneath until its sides became extremely hot. The victim was made to walk on top of the slowly heating cylinder and he was forced to shift his feet to avoid the burning. The oily surface made it difficult for the victim to maintain his position and balance. If the victim falls into the charcoal below, he would be burnt to death. The victim was forced to "dance" and scream in agony before dying eventually while the observing King Zhou and Daji would laugh in delight. However this period of 'joy' was not meant to last long for the evil concubine.

Realizing that the actions of Daji was making him exceedingly unpopular with his people, King Zhou set out to find an exorcist to seal his wife in fear that there may be a national uprising against his rule. Eventually he found a group of monks who agreed to seal the crazed concubine underneath a temple, the powerful entity within her will keep her alive but it will have no way of escape once the sealing was completed. Once she was eventually found and subdued, which caused the deaths of 148 of the king's soldiers, she was sealed underneath the temple forever vowing to return and wreak havoc like she once did.

It wasn't until the rise of the 'People's Republic of China' took hold of the growing nation that Daji returned, being unearthed by a group of miners who did not have the time to tell of their discovery after they were quickly slaughtered. The demon lady had returned and has been roaming earth ever since, searching for worthy entertainment for her unquenchable lust.

The Powers

Power 1: Demon PhysiologyFirst and foremost of Daji's gifts are the various abilities that she has acquired after the entity took hold of her malevolence. Due to the entity's otherworldly capabilities Daji is now suspended in time, effectively making her ageless. She has not felt the strain of time even when she was sealed underneath the temple. This 'immortal' state of hers has granted her a peak physical condition, one which was enhanced from her time as a normal human granting her amazing levels of speed and durability considered superhuman for a woman of her size.

Power 2: Berserker mode (2 ABI)This is activated only when Daji is in particular danger or is fighting an opponent more powerful than she is. The demon's "true" form is released after Daji willingly allows the entity to take over her resulting in significant increase in speed, strength, stamina, durability all at the cost of her sharp mind. While in this form she is capable of extremely fast bursts of speed and her senses have become so acute they surpass a majority of all the living things on earth. Whilst in this form she is capable of cutting through extremely tough substances through the use of her claws, fangs and horns.

Power 3: Heightened Senses (1 ABI In demon form) Due to her beastly canine form she assumes once in berserker mode the princess gains extremely acute senses that exceed many living creatures that roam the earth. her ears can practically pick up every single sound, and can decipher layer upon layer of noise. She can see clearly for several miles and her smile is unrivalled, capable of discerning scents that would otherwise go unnoticed by many living creatures.
