Personality:
Despite being a criminal, Lucas isn't actually much of a bad person when not 'on the job'. He sees his criminal activities as simply making a living. Nothing he does is ever personal and he doesn't actually care for hurting others nor stealing for that matter, but he will do them if need be. However, murder, rape, hurting children and the other seriously malevolent acts are beyond what he is willing to do, nor tolerate if he can do anything about it. The only thing that would stop him from going good would probably be his lack of drive to do so and the fact that heroes rarely get a paycheck. Even though Ruin is a powerful superhuman and a natural born fighter in his own right, he's not what people would call ambitious. At most he hopes to 'earn' enough money to afford a decent living. Lucas is also far from being what people would call a tough guy, he may be actively repulsed by gore and will fear for his life in dangerous situations, just like most other people. Another thing to note would be that Lucas has a fairly severe fear of flying, but not of heights. Unless he's on solid ground he will feel insecure.

History:
Lucas' upbringing was nothing special. He lived a lower middle class lifestyle with his parents and older brother Jake. In school he was only barely able to keep up in his studies and he never excelled at anything. His brother had done a little better than him in this field, but he still wasn't anything to brag about. After graduating from highschool both of them had immediately gone job hunting to help support the family, but their situation had degraded greatly when Lucas' father had grown ill and could no longer work, putting extra strain on the rest of them. Eventually medical bills and basic costs of living piled up to the point where they were becoming desperate. Out of this desperation his brother had turned to a life of petty crime, which had actually proved fruitful for a short time as the money he stole had done well in keeping the bills under control, but as expected a life of crime rarely comes without it's dangers. On one particularly daring day, Jake had attempted to rob a store, but it hadn't gone through smoothly. The police had shown up and he just barely evaded them. However, getting away from the scene and getting away with the crime are two completely different things, so eventually the police had tracked him down to his home. When they showed up to arrest him, Lucas had confessed to the crime, taking his brother's place. With evidence that condemned one of them having been found in the apartment, but not evidence as to which of them did it, Lucas was arrested and later convicted of his brother's crimes.

Lucas spent a number of years in prison, having recieved no contact from his family whom had seemed to just disown him, even his brother had made no attempts to see him. After finally getting out Lucas had immediately tried to see his family, but was shocked to learn that during his time locked away both his mother and father had died, his father dying of his illness and his mother losing her life in a traffic collision. He still has no idea what had happened to his brother, but he'd assumed that after their mother passed he just couldn't stay in the city anymore. Finding a job proved difficult, which was to be expected for an ex-convict. Fortunately, or unfortunately as future events would show, he had found an ad which had seemed lucradive enough. It was for a drug trial that promised payment, even if you weren't chosen as a candidate. Deciding to go to the building specified, he signed up. After a few tests, him as well as at least eighty others had recieved a check, but only he was selected to undergo the procedures. While at first he was nervous, the reminder that it was either this or being homeless had made him go through with it. He was taken to a facility underneath the building where he was subjugated into intense 'treatment' as they called it. In truth, it was more like being stabbed with countless needles and injected with whatever strangely coloured liquid they chose to put into his body. The side effects of the 'treatment' was great bouts of pain and terrifying hallucinations. More than once he had tried to get away, telling them he didn't want to be part of it anymore, but apparently this fell on deaf ears as they continued undaunted by his pleas.

Then, one day the injections stopped. The pain and dillusional visions he experienced had ceased. Honestly he was still hoping they'd let him go soon, but while things seemed to be getting better, he wasn't out of the woods yet. They put him into a white room with a single wall of glass, probably a one way mirror, but Lucas never really knew. To Lucas' horror the room had started to fill with some sort of gas and despite his best efforts not to breathe it in, it wasn't long before he was forced to gasp for breath, inhaling the fumes. The gas burned in his lungs, but the real pain was the intense agony that he felt from the rest of his body. After what seemed like days, the pain subsided and he found the strength to rise up from the fetal position. The next thing he knew, he was being escorted into another room. In this room he was put in front of a pile of rocks and dirt. Before he could even ask why he was given the simple order 'move it'. The second he stepped forward to try and lift them guns, held by the guards in the room, were pointed right at him. This time a voice over the intercom spoke, saying 'Don't touch them, move it'. Honestly it just seemed like insanity, but they were insistant, even starting to count down from ten before they shot him for not complying. Near the end of the countdown, Lucas was practically frozen with fear, not having the slightest idea what to do, but as the voice approached one, Lucas shouted out and not only did the pile on the floor start shaking violently, so did the room.

Lucas was applauded for his success, but this did little to make him feel any better about his situation. The next day he was presented with a suit, which he was told would amplify his abilities. Not having much of a choice, he put on the suit and performed several tasks to show his level of control. However, when they had ordered him to take off the suit a plan had formed in his head. While not exactly the greatest or best thought out plan in the world, it was the only one he had. He unleashed the full extent of his destructive power, tearing down the entire building by violently destroying it's foundation, the people holding him didn't stand a chance. Amidst the rubble, Lucas had clawed his way out, using his abilities to free himself. He immediately escaped the scene, knowing full well that if he was caught he was screwed. He had made his way back to his apartment, but found it was being occupied by someone else, something that tends to happen when you don't show up for months. He had found himself a new apartment, with a small amount of deceit, but once more the problem of where the hell he was going to be getting money presented itself. This time though, wasn't like his situation a couple of months ago, this time he had a means to obtain some quick cash. He decided that, if he could not get money the nice way, he would get it the bad way. Other superhumans went around stealing all the time and barely any of them ever got caught or captured for very long, so why couldn't he do the same? It was on that day he chose to start his own criminal career.

The Powers

Earth Manipulation
Ruin possesses the ability to manipulate rocks and minerals. His most frequent use of this power is moving/lifting rocks, boulders, stones, dirt, etc as well as concrete, bricks, cement and other similar man made materials, all of which will be considered earth from here on. He can move earth with great amounts of force and speed, making his projectiles dangerous to just about anyone. He can form, shape, shift, split and compress earth in almost whatever way he can imagine; he can create constructs such as walls, pillars and spikes as well as force open large fissures and crevices for example, but he is unable to create anything with any form of sentience. Another form of attack that he can utilise is creating a directed shockwave through the ground to knock back or take enemies off balance. However, his control of his powers is less than perfect. Without the use of his suit he lacks the level of control that would allow him to move minerals and earthly materials with any degree of accuracy. Instead, when not wearing his suit, his powers take the form of uncontrolled earthquake like destruction in any nearby materials that he can manipulate.
