The Heroes Compilation Empty The Heroes Compilation

Post by Valkyrie August 5th 2011, 1:05 am

The wind that sliced in through the open cabin of the military helicopter whipped Nina's hair around her face, stinging her skin as she watched her companions through wincing eyes. The four of them exchanged no words over the piercing roar of the vehicle; they couldn't even if they wanted to, short of having some sort of headphones and mic like those worn by the two pilots up front. The men themselves chatted only with one another, always in short bursts of conversation and occasionally hand signals. Nina used her boot camp style upbringing and teachings to try and decipher what they wanted to communicate to one another. All she could gather was that they were sometimes turning left, too low, or that their companion should check the instruments. She turned and looked out at the area below, her hands tight around the handles available to her to hold on to during the flight. The city sprawled below them, and a pit in her stomach formed tighter and heavier as she cursed this mode of transportation. Nina Wynowski was afraid of heights, more-so than anything else that you could put her through on this earth. Bring guns, bring fire, bring your most vile super villain and all of his finery, and she would choose that 10 out of 10 times when given the choice between it or flying.

Her eyes darted all over the landscape, her nerves on edge more than they had ever been. She felt a hundred pairs of eyes on her, and with what would be a final glance, she looked at her companions. Judging from their appearances, Nina was one of the oldest, if not the elder of the group. Only one male sat among the three females, but the young heroines eyes stayed on the woman across from her. She looked a lot tougher than someone of her qualities should be, covered in black with dark hair and distinctly mongoloid features. Before Nina had a chance to give her a head nod of acknowledgment, all of the mechanics in the helicopter ground to a halt, pausing in the air for a moment before they began plummeting through the air, the nose of the great machine pointing toward the ground.

As her body rose gently into the air, the seat belt being the only thing that stopped her from bumping into the ceiling of the cabin, she let out a high pitched scream. This was the part she would dread most out of the event, and as what appeared to be a mall rushed up to meet them, her eyes widened into gray orbs of fear and regret. She had an epiphany as glass shattered around them, as the pilots cried out to one another, and as the helicopter smashed into the ground with a screeching, metallic thump: She really should have asked about walking to SeaCove.

- - -

With a groan, her eyes peeled open to reveal that she was no longer in her seat, but instead curled up around the head of the older woman in their group, laying on her side against the smashed remains of the pilots area. She smelled blood mixed with oil, smoke rising into the air in gray pillows that smelled both greasy and burnt.

Her associates stirred around her, wounded sounds and noises of effort swelling along with the muffled tunes of a broken helicopter that was settling into its final resting place. Nina brought herself up to her elbows before sliding down on her butt and reaching up to help the youngest girl, who must have been 14 or 15 at the most, that dangled in her seat. ''How is everyone?'' she said with a grunt, using one hand to wrench her belts out and the other to gently bring her down. A backwards glance revealed the boy and the woman to be in good condition, but still working their way out of their seats. She set down the tween before giving her a smile and looking out at their location; a destroyed mall that was filled with glass shards, trash, debris, and the occasional splash of blood.

''Anyone seriously hurt?'' she said barely above a whisper, the crushing feeling of being watched seeping into her again. Her fists curled into two balls of leather and white knuckles, and she hoped against hope that she wouldn't use them too much today.

The Heroes Compilation Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Nightshade August 5th 2011, 5:02 pm

Alice was silent throughout the whole ride, nervously keeping to herself. The other's were just as quiet, consisting of one man, an asian girl, and another heroine as well. She almost felt sorry for the only guy, but she didn't know him too well. Besides that, she wasn't paying too much attention, considering how fearful she was, now that she was now seperated from Wally, the only person she actually knew here. She had to keep her cool though, who knew what could happen in this possibly very dangerous venture. She adjusted her seat belt, tightening it slightly. Best to be safe... always best to be safe. As if reading her mind, the helicopter's engine simply cut. Alice's eyes widened in shock. "Shit..." And with that, the helicopter started to fall. Her scream joined the other sounds of panic within the helicopter as it nose dived through the air.

Alice felt a surge of power go through her and with that, she instinctively activated her powers. The shadows surged around her, creating a protective shield around her. Outside, she heard glass shattering and the sounds of the copter hitting the ground. She jolted around inside the covering, wincing in pain. She had stopped screaming by now, exhausting all her terror in the first few moments. It was all silent now, the power slowly ebbing away. She knew where it had come for, and she also knew what was going to happen next. "Thanks..." she thought, sending it towards Nofuretsu, the spirit seemed to smile in her head. And then, she blacked out, the corresponding amount of energy draining out of her.

She woke up to the feeling of her being lifted up. Alice groaned as she stirred, and with that, found herself in the arms of the oldest looking woman. She moved slightly, feeling herself being set down. She slowly stood up, feeling slightly uneasy. It felt like she was being watched or something. Alice shuddered, shaking her head, best not to freak herself out. Smelling blood, she looked over to the wreck.... "No!" she ran over to see the dead bodies of the two pilots. She shook her head, why hadn't she tried to save them. "Damn it!" she shuddered. "What the hell happened!?" she asked, anger filling her.

The Heroes Compilation Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Archer Roland August 7th 2011, 8:34 pm

The greatest hero in the world had been at the gathering, just as expected, but he had not done nearly as much as Frost had thought he would do. The up and coming hero did not have the courage at that moment to approach him and tell him of their relationship, after all there were more pressing matters that needed to be dealt with. Aliens sounded a little farfetched to the boy and he would wait to see the first of the beings to believe in their existence, since there seemed to be plenty of people smart enough to do everything the general had described. But that was all beside the point, all that mattered was that there were people that needed to be saved.

When Frost got onto the helicopter, which would take him to the city, he saw the rest of his team which was comprised of all women. The women were all attractive, even the girl that looked to be younger than then the boy was cute, but he again was not there for any of that. On the aircraft Frost did not so much as say a word to his team, feeling that it was not the place or time to do so, but rather sat quietly in his seat buckled up safely. Then without warning the helicopter gave a menacing shudder right before it began to fall out of the sky and made it’s was for the cold hard ground.

Taking action, Frost calmed his mind from the terror that tried to grip him. If he panicked he would surely die, being unable to perform due to incompetence was not a good way to meet your end. Once his mind was at ease he began his work, freezing the water directly around his body as he tried to keep an eye on everyone around him, if his partners needed any help what so ever he would be sure to give it to them but it seemed they had it taken care of.

Once the helicopter came to a rest shortly after the crash Frost was quick to work, melting the ice that covered his body and escaping the seat belt with little effort. He then looked at his companions once again and checked to see if they were okay. Then he remembered the other people in the aircraft, the pilots. He rushed to the front of the machine and saw that they had died what looked to have been a quick death. Still the boy could not stand to see the bodies of the brave men that had just been trying to do their jobs. Placing a shaky hand on their heads he felt that their blood was no longer moving and then removed his hands which were now covered in the blood of the two before him. The boy then turned to his allies and said in a solemn voice, though he was trying to hide his tenderness to the two dead bodies in front of him, “I think we need to move.”

Hopefully things would get better soon but those odds did not look good.

The Heroes Compilation Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Bliss August 8th 2011, 3:31 am

A bold brush of blue ran across Bliss's eye lash. Her mascara hand stayed steady among the rapid change in altitude. "Don't stare at me..." She gave a cold brush of her attitude towards the man sitting next to her, but would not mind if the comment made its way over to the other occupants. Appearances and names fell away in the spiraling winds of the helicopters. With all of her worst intentions flying in the tail wind of the aircraft, Bliss took this moment to reapply her make-up before anything that could go wrong went wrong.

A sudden impact rocked the helicopter violently. A blue streak ran across her forehead, bruising her eyebrow. The surprise of the event sent her brush plummeting to the ground below them. As they spiraled helplessly down to the ground the only thought that came to the mind of Bliss was that right now her life now rested in the support of a seat belt constructed by the lowest bidder.

Details of the crash seemed irrelevant in the face of the travesty. Instead of struggling with the seat belt, Bliss popped the locking mechanism and merely slid to the ground. She watched the skyline to listen for any other helicopters remained in tact, but the chatter of her comrades got in the way. Wanting to avoid any idle chatter, Bliss walked towards the direction the helicopters flew from. Vibrating rocks and dirt shattered under the stress of the force Bliss exerted.

Dust floated among the ruined shops. Light illuminated their descending path to the rubble strewn ground. Bursting louder than the confusion of the crashed helicopter, rounds sounded out from the deep. Her search for her missing brush turned up no results. The annoyance of losing her handy tool only lasted for a few moments until she remembered where they crashed. Never more than two stores down from a make up store in a mall.

A glass display case shattered. Bliss reached her hand into the mirror and took a console and brush into her hand. Same brand and everything, maybe she should take this time to stock up. Slipping several consoles into her bag, the victorious Bliss listened to her surroundings. It gave a quiet sense of calamity. Only background diegetic sounds rang through the hollow building; their grievous anthems ringing through the concrete pillars that remained intact. Her reflection gazed upon her actions, but it felt as though someone else occupied her senses in the mirror. The mirrored image gave a mimicry of her actions, but not with the same emotions or repose; the emptiness rang out. Helicopters stopped.

"No one's coming." Bliss reapplied her make up with a steady right hand. She hid her left hand in her jacket pocket. It trembled in the wake of oblivion. "I can't hear any helicopters. Even if someone else survived out there, they're going to be watching their own ass." She batted the final product of her work. "We're on our own. Let's get the hell out of here."

Her hand comfortingly patted the small girl on the shoulder. ''We were sent to do our job, that's what happened.'' She smiled, attempting to at least soothe her somewhat before all the nasty violence got into full swing. Her gaze drifted from the corpses onto the back of the woman as she strode away from them, seemingly undisturbed by the circumstances. ''Uh, yeah...'' she mumbled, acknowledging the boy. ''We need to get the shit outta here.'' Maybe she was already leaving? If so, she was smart, but was she really? Would groups be better than being alone? All of her questions were immediately pushed from her mind when she watched what transpired a moment later.

Nina watched in thinly veiled confusion as her associate started to take things from a window display. She cleared her throat and climbed away from the crash, looking back up through the hole in the ceiling before her entire body jerked in fear from the low, sudden rumble of some sort of explosion. She hated explosions, almost as much as she hated heights. ''Damn skippy we are on our own...'' she mumbled. ''Hey, uhm... guys?'' she called out to the two remaining by the crash. ''Whats say you we get the fuck out of here?''

The Heroes Compilation Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Nightshade August 9th 2011, 1:00 am

In her emotional turmoil, Alice barely noticed the happenings around her. Ever since moving to LA, she found her already paltry innocence being ripped away from her in a series of traumatic events. Now another one could be added to the list. She looked up as the one that carried her out of the wreckage attempted to sooth her, patting her on the shoulder. Alice looked up at the girl, giving her a forced smile. With that, she slowly stood up, shaking her head slightly as if hoping to fling the negative feelings from her head.

Sighing, she looked around, observing her surroundings. The only man in the group was beside her, startling Alice slightly. She blinked slightly before continuing her cursory glance around. The other asian was finishing her raid on a nearby makeup store. She stared at the girl, wondering what could posess her to worry more about makeup then their current situation. Alice frowned, biting back the tongue lashing she wanted to give, knowing it'd be... well, it'd just be bad. Sounds of an explosion reached her ears, but she paid it no mind, knowing it wasn't too close to where they were.

"Yeah... let's just go." she said quietly, walking over to Valkyrie. She looked back at the wreck, sending a silent prayer to whatever powers that were up there, to be kind to the pilot's souls... there was also another prayer that nothing too fucked up would happen to them. She had a feeling that the second prayer would be unanswered.

The Heroes Compilation Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Archer Roland August 9th 2011, 6:43 pm

The girls were leaving already, walking away from the wreckage of the helicopter and the two men inside it, the men inside were no longer who they once were so there was no point in sticking around. Turning, Jack saw the older Asian girl taking and using some makeup she had taken from a display, nothing worth worrying about since the materials would have simply gone to waste if she had not taken them. Living on the streets had taught the boy to never let anything go to waste, even if it did not actually belong to you. The boy listened to the words of the older Asian and had to agree with her, there were low odds of anybody coming to help them.

Frost began to walk with the three girls though he kept his distance towards the back of the group. The girls all seemed like good enough people but he had never met them before in his life so as things stood at the moment he could not completely trust any of them. He would wait until things happened that would force them into action and then see how they reacted; gauging them by their own actions would prove the most valid results.

Things were bound to go nowhere but downhill with anything that happened, aliens or not there was going to be a lot of dead people around but the hero had not seen any more than the two pilots. The place was deserted, with not so much as a single body on the ground around them, which was odd given the complete lack of human or even animal presence around them. Taking in a deep breath through his nose to try and see if he could smell anything if he tried, Frost smell the slight odor of death.

The boy took a few steps over to the railing and saw something he could have lived without seeing, a single dead body that had crashed through one of the tables in the food court three floors below. “Hey, looks like another body down there but it’s the only one,” the boy thought for a time before he continued his train of thought, “maybe the person jumped trying to get away from whatever happened to everyone else?” He looked to his companions to see how they would react or if they would have any thoughts of their own on the single dead body.

The Heroes Compilation Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Bliss August 10th 2011, 3:13 am

Sense of ill-gotten gains reflected poorly in the look of the smaller girl. "What?" Through the gaze of narrowed eyesight, Bliss walked towards Alice. "Did you want something?" Momentous grace collided with the smaller girl's shoulder, letting Bliss walk her way towards the food court. An invasion of her senses overwhelmed any innocence she held of this area. Something wrong sat within this place in an undisturbed sense. A macabre silence stuck out in the middle of the court; a gray body lay in the open.

Frost spoke to her. She told him not to, or perhaps she told him not to stare; it matters little really in the wake of what Bliss put together. "There is no way this smell is only coming from one body..." She kept her left hand trembling in her jacket. Under the guise of strength her lip quivered in disturbance. "We need to take care of the helicopter. Ice guy, try to freeze over the gas lines; it won't freeze them, but it should keep it from exploding in an enclosed area. Strong girl come with me. I may need you."

There was really no way that a girl the age of Alice could get in this mission without some kind of power. Whatever her reasons for coming stood at, she seemed at odds in this place. Angry over something, but that would turn into despair if she saw what Bliss believed the food court held with its decrepit halls. "Stay here and protect the kid..." She spoke with authority, but requested with mercy.

"Lets go." Bliss began her death march into the mausoleum. Colored hand rails offered her solace against the backdrop that she approached at the bottom of the descending stairs. Vendor signs stood as vacant colored headstones for the mass grave that stood hidden behind the walled off corner. Frost spotted the first of many corpses that now called this catacomb home. Bliss froze; the slow creeping sound of infestation creeping through their corpses drowned out the hushed silence.

She surrendered the refuge of her left hand to the rail. No strength of will could stand up to the sight. "I..." Shock swallowed her words. Nerve failed and her beleaguered stance found itself joined by her right hand; she needed to stay upright. Under her own will she released her grip of the rail and walked forward. In a futile gesture, she raised the hood on her jacket and pulled the neck over her nose.

"We need to bury the dead."
The hooded gave her the appearance of a necromancer among a city of the dead. "Knock down those support pillars and I'll keep the debris from spilling up and hitting us with any collateral damage." She held her hands up and began pressing force against the pillars. "I'll give you a start on the pillars."

The Heroes Compilation Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Valkyrie August 10th 2011, 9:26 pm

Nina smiled and ruffled the young girls hair before she strode over to the black-clad woman. ''You'll be alright, wont you?'' she called over her shoulder, her nose flinching at the slowly increasing foul stench that seemed to grease the air. Already she was attached to the young girl, feeling like a sort of care taker or older sister in the few short moments they had shared. Perhaps it was the kids purity that attracted her, like a mother bear to an orphaned cub. Regardless of the reasoning, she hoped that the girl would be ok.

Her gaze shifted to the corpse, causing her to recoil slightly. She was accustomed to gore, but death was a new experience. The body looked nothing like in the movies; there was so much blood around it, spilled like a giant splatter of paint. Organs hung around like minced meat and pulp, even bones stuck out in pale, jutting spires. Suddenly a wave of nausea pulled at her gut, making her close her eyes and turn away to follow the woman up the stairs. The scent of rot thickened, making her face muscles tighten. Even though she wasn't entirely sure why she was following the woman, she remained close behind. Nina had always been more of a follower than a leader.

- - -

''Knock them... down?'' she asked sheepishly, holding a hand in front of her mouth and nose to try and smother the stench. A cursory glance showed that the woman wasn't kidding, so with only an ounce of trepidation, she strode over to the first one and looked up its length. With one one jump, she rocketed herself to the ceiling, digging her fingers into the pillar like picks. A few scrapes and hits, and already fissures began spidering down its length, creating the tell-tale creaks and groans of a collapsing structure.

Nina then made the mistake of glancing down. She saw just how high up she was, and in her fear, clung to the pillar as it began to swing down towards the one across from it. As they collided, she felt the sheet rock, plaster, and wood crunch around her, encasing her as they fell together near the ground. In one large sound and pile of rubble, they destroyed one another and lay on the ground; the ceiling was pulled along with it. It took the shock of being on the ground again to make her realize just what was going on.

Panicked scratches and kicks helped her yank herself from the debris, and when the room began to cave in on itself, she sprinted back towards the woman, dropping to her side to slide the rest of the distance and stop at her feet, curling back into a squatting stance, her breath coming in short and sputtering gasps.

The Valkyrie ruffled her hair, tugging a small smile out of Alice at the show of affection. Well, she was nicer than the other Asian. "Yeah... I'll be fine." she said quietly, walking a little behind the two older and no doubt more seasoned heroines. Alice's eyes darted around, taking in as many details as she could. Besides the obvious lack of anything living and the general state of things, nothing really seemed amiss. Yet it felt like they were being watched by... Alice halted that train of thought; there was no use in scaring herself silly. But still, it was best to---

"Be careful, there still might be something out there."

Alice rolled her eyes. "I know, I know. This place just feels... weird."

She took a deep breath before suddenly wrinkling her nose. "Hey, what's that smell?" she asked, looking around. That's when Frost spotted the body, informing them of its possible origins. She slowly moved towards the railing, looking over with macabre curiosity. She felt a twinge of sorrow as she gazed upon the broken body, but the feeling was muted for the complete stranger."What in the world happened here?"

"You know as much as I do."

She huffed in annoyance, "That was a rhetorical question."

Alice sighed, trying to imagine the events that would have lead up to something like this. She was so absorbed with this activity that she didn’t notice what was going on around her. She was suddenly knocked out of her reverie by a very loud rumbling noise. “What in the…” she looked around to see that only Frost was with her, the other two were gone. “Where’d everyone go!?” She looked towards the noise… it was coming from the food court. Alice ran over to the two women, “What happened?” she asked frantically, looking at them with wide eyes, fear evident in her expression.

The Heroes Compilation Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Archer Roland August 14th 2011, 9:38 pm

Frost watched as the two girls walked down the stairs and towards the food court below, the one giving the orders had made sure the powerhouse had gone with her. The boy was not sure how useful the small girl would be in any combat situations given her small size and apparent lack of training of any kind to give her ant type of edge in the soon to come events. But still, he did not argue with their apparent leader given how badly things typically went when he attempted to lead any group and instead began the short trek back to the helicopter. A still gruesome sight but he knew the job had to be done and so set about doing his chore.

She had given him a fairly simple chore, nothing more than doing what came naturally to him, freezing the fuel of the jet which could spread to the rest of the helicopter as well. Once he was to the aircraft he placed his hands on the exterior and felt for the source of the liquids, moving his whole body to be directly in front of the largest gathering of it all and quickly set to work. To do his job he would have to lower the temperature to somewhere in the range of about negative fifty degrees Celsius, which would take a little while. He felt the world turn to ice and everything stopped for a time, almost as though time stood still only for him, but it never even slowed and before he knew it the activity had been completed.

The hero was not completely sure how long he had taken to freeze the fuel but when he looked up to check and see where the girl he was currently watching was he could see her over by the railing staring at the dead body. Frost had never been very good at talking to people but he felt he had to do something to put the girl at comfort, to maybe ease her pain. “You should probably quit looking at the body, might give you nightmares. I know the first body I saw still haunts me from time to time,” he could not tell if he had helped her but he had tried. The boy had always had a hard time connecting with people and perhaps that was why being a hero was so easy for him, although it had led to the death of his friend. Some things could never be forgiven and that was at the top of the list.

He began a slow walk over to the girl to make her look away when he felt the crash of something falling below them. Not a good thing since if the object took down a lower level the floor he was on would surely be next. Frost froze the ground beneath him and skated across the ice to in front of the girl and spoke in his best authority voice, “Get away from the rail. This floor might be next.” If the girl even moved he was not sure, all he could think about was whether or not the floor would fall. “Are you two alright down there?” he yelled to his companions. If the floor began to fall he would try to keep it in place with ice but that might only be a quick fix at best.

The Heroes Compilation Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Bliss August 15th 2011, 1:36 am

Pillars fell appropriately; metal screeched into the echoing vacancy below. With Valkyrie behind her, Bliss summoned up all the force she could control, and even some that she could not, and pushed it against the falling support beams. They buried them under the weight of consumerism, surrounded by headstones of capitol. The end almost seemed fitting.

Bliss began to cause rippling explosions in a circular fashion to contain the pestilence of dust that crawled forward like the Angel of Death upon Egypt. She pushed it down and kept the creeping death away from her comrades lungs. She averted their deaths in one way. Others would come. Surely, they would come.

Aching architecture groaned a dying moan over the newly formed necropolis. Bliss found herself alone among a populace of hundreds. She heard the cries of oblivion. "None of these people have names..." Her voice trailed off. Blood seeped out of the pores in her hands, cracking the skin between her fingers. Dust began to choke her as she stood in front of the parted ceiling, reminding her that Moses died before he entered the promise land. Her vision caught the distorted image of the girl she told to stay back.

Why her emotions flew off escaped her. She no longer felt contained within a stupor at the sight of the girl. "I told you to stay back." Bliss launched a forceful shot towards Alice's stomach. The force flew towards her in a wide spread sweep that would inflict very little harm, but would send her flying backwards. A concentrated pitch rang our towards the ice to bring it to a shattering point, showing him her displeasure at failing her request. "Was it really that hard?"

Her uncontrolled burst of power brought her to a crouching position; her hand positioned just in front of her body, resting as an apex. Blood ran down her nose from her brow. She did not know where the blood ran from, but she knew its ever so reminiscent viscosity. She knew it all to well.

The Heroes Compilation Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Valkyrie August 24th 2011, 6:24 pm

At the sudden increase in volume and activity, Nina curled her arms around her head and closed her eyes. The noise was terrible, piercing into her thoughts and making her whimper as she felt residual tremors and dull vibrations shiver through her combat boots and into her feet. She knew that even if she wasn't protected against the onslaught of damage she would have come out without a scratch, but it was the suggestion that made her curl up in fear and wait for it all to be over.

When everything settled uneasily, she unsheathed herself from her own limbs and rose, gaping over the remnant of what used to be a very urban setting. A sense of awe at her own ability should have set in, but instead she just stretched her neck out and look at her associate. She was bleeding, and before Nina had a chance to play nice and offer to help her with whatever wounds now afflicted her, the woman spoke: ''I told you to stay back.'' This caused the heroine to furrow her brow then look in the direction in which she had spoken. She felt a small ripple of comfort when she was the young girl and boy, only to have it crushed when she witnessed the blow send the young girl back. ''Was it really that hard?''

''What the fuck, man?!'' she cried out, shoving the woman roughly to the side. ''You just got no respect or some shit?'' With a tightly wound fist, she extended her index finger and prodded the woman on the forehead. The thick smell of fresh blood and long-dead meat soaked into Nina, making her nose twitch into a disgusted sneer. ''Best keep that unnecessary roughness to yourself, or at least use it on someone who can take it.'' A prideful and angry grin peeled her face almost in half as she backed up a step, folding her arms and staring down the woman for a second before she turned sharply on her heel and began the trek over to where Alice lay. ''You guys alright?'' she called out to the young girl and boy, deciding that this was the time in which she would try and play den mother. Nina wracked her brain as to why the older woman would lash out at the pair, who were, evidently, the less battle-worn in the group. Was this mysterious femme a villain? She couldn't distinctly remember seeing her in the company of either the heroes or villains, and the uncertainty made her nervous.

She was trying her best to ignore the ever-present icy creep of fear that gently probed the very fringe of her consciousness. A sideways glance only served to fuel the already shattered nerves that filled her. Did something just move up there? Was that a pair of eyes watching her, or just a glimmer of broken glass? Underneath the layers of clothing she wore, a faint tremble began to permeate her like the foreshock to an earthquake.

The Heroes Compilation Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Nightshade August 25th 2011, 11:33 pm

Just as she got over to Bliss and Valkyrie, she found herself being thrown back by some invisible force. She hit the wall with enough force to knock the wind out of her. She gasped for breath as she struggled to stand up. "What... what the hell was that for!?" She yelled, heading for Bliss. Valkyrie beat her to the punch though, prodding the Asian Lady angrily. Alice continued heading over, only to trip and fall to her chagrin. "FUCK!" she yelled, hitting the ground angrily as she felt her irritation grow. First she was randomly striked, now she could barely walk!? Unbeknownst to her, the shadows around her started to move, reflecting her highly agitated state.

"CALM YOUSELF"

"Fuck you."
she thought, obviously very pissed off now. The prescence in her head seemed to hiss, but withdrew, deciding to just let this play out. It was either that or trying to kill her himself.

"I'm fine she hissed." at Valkyrie, slowly standing back up again before stalking her way over to Bliss.

"Seriously!? What the hell was that fo----" That's when she saw the arm sticking out of the large pile of rubble. Alice blinked at it uncomprehending for a moment. Then, it hit her. "Wait... this is where... all... the dead bodies... were?" She blinked, stumbling back slightly. "So... they are all dead. Most likely every single bloody resident in this city has most likely been killed..." She was babbling at this point, as she sank to her knees, eyes wide. "Who would do this?" As she went into something akin to shock, the shadows calmed down, becoming normal shadows again.

The Heroes Compilation Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Archer Roland August 28th 2011, 3:55 pm

Frost walked over to the stairs the girl had managed to run down, directly ignoring what the girl acting as leader had told them to do, which did not seem to be a good idea to the hero. It did not seem like the floor beneath him was going to start falling and that whatever had been destroyed had been well contained for it to not affect any higher levels. Walking in the same direction as the young girl had gone in he looked down towards the women below him and saw that the small girl had been on knocked to the floor and that there seemed to be a small argument about to take place, it did not take a lot of imagination to figure out what had happened.

“You disobeyed an order because you weren’t paying attention,” Frost said to the girl in a cold tone. “You might have been fine this time but you could wind up dead if you don’t listen to what’s going on around you,” he was walking down the stairs to the rest of the girls, who may or may not have been listening to anything he was saying, and continued talking, “she’ll have to learn now to pay attention or learn a much harder way later on.” Frost was being short with the girl because it was obvious she was still inexperienced with these types of encounters. The boy understood that sometimes you had to be knocked down to really learn a lesson; his time on the streets had taught him that.

Walking over to the woman with the nose bleed and placing his hand on her cheek he decreased the temperature around the source of the bleeding, attempting to make the bleeding at least less noticeable. With that done he turned back to the two other girls and said with words as cold as ice, a fitting tone for the boy, “You two need to do what you’re told or else one of you might die, or even worse you might be responsible for the death of someone else.” He looked to the three girls individually and had to wonder if he was a lucky man or if he had managed to showcase his bad luck for the umpteenth time in his life. With how things were going it seemed that being in a crash landing might be the high point of his day.
