The Heroes Compilation - Page 2 Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Archer Roland August 28th 2011, 3:55 pm

Frost walked over to the stairs the girl had managed to run down, directly ignoring what the girl acting as leader had told them to do, which did not seem to be a good idea to the hero. It did not seem like the floor beneath him was going to start falling and that whatever had been destroyed had been well contained for it to not affect any higher levels. Walking in the same direction as the young girl had gone in he looked down towards the women below him and saw that the small girl had been on knocked to the floor and that there seemed to be a small argument about to take place, it did not take a lot of imagination to figure out what had happened.

“You disobeyed an order because you weren’t paying attention,” Frost said to the girl in a cold tone. “You might have been fine this time but you could wind up dead if you don’t listen to what’s going on around you,” he was walking down the stairs to the rest of the girls, who may or may not have been listening to anything he was saying, and continued talking, “she’ll have to learn now to pay attention or learn a much harder way later on.” Frost was being short with the girl because it was obvious she was still inexperienced with these types of encounters. The boy understood that sometimes you had to be knocked down to really learn a lesson; his time on the streets had taught him that.

Walking over to the woman with the nose bleed and placing his hand on her cheek he decreased the temperature around the source of the bleeding, attempting to make the bleeding at least less noticeable. With that done he turned back to the two other girls and said with words as cold as ice, a fitting tone for the boy, “You two need to do what you’re told or else one of you might die, or even worse you might be responsible for the death of someone else.” He looked to the three girls individually and had to wonder if he was a lucky man or if he had managed to showcase his bad luck for the umpteenth time in his life. With how things were going it seemed that being in a crash landing might be the high point of his day.

The Heroes Compilation - Page 2 Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Not one to take bullying, Bliss swatted her hand towards the Valkyrie's judgmental finger. This girl followed her orders and knocked down the better part of a food court, so Bliss knew that a shoving contest with her seemed completely out of the question. As her hand swatted towards the Valkyrie's hand, Bliss shot out a burst of energy that would accompany the blow. She may not play fair, but she did want to make her point made.

Blood receded as she shivered from the cold touch. Blood drops splattered on the floor, washing away at the dust remains that blew away with ease. He began to reprimand the two younger heroines. Bliss moved away from the cooling touch and fought back her urge to send out another blast. She stared across from Valkyrie, she seemed the most likely to come at her. Her hands moved fluidly to stay ready for her, but what about the other girl? She could hardly remember what she was capable of. A small girl in this contingent must possess some power. Still, they could sort that out later. "Just back off and we'll be fine." Bliss shouted. "Start listening unless you want to join those people there." An elongated index finger pointed out towards the grave, and away from the coming threat that they did not listen for.

As the noise from the heroes intensified, it drowned out the approach of the hunters. From the shadows emerged five creatures that barely held the title of human anymore. Their resolve darted out with brutal fervor. The speed they possessed closed the distance between the hunting party and the bickering heroes quickly. Two hunters attacked Valkyrie while one assaulted the other three. Feral attacks aimed towards the neck and head of the heroes all fell with uncanny accuracy and even more fierce strength.

Against Valkyrie, the first hunter acted as a feign attack. He launched his super strengthened attack against her head to try and incapacitate her. While this attack waited for resolution the other hunter flew towards her side hoping grab one of her arms. He would use his strength to pull the arm behind her, and attempt to grab the other. Once successfully grappled, the initial hunter would carry out his assignment, and put the superhero in a more cooperative state.

The hunters for the Bliss and Frost all followed a more hands on approach. They would make a grapple attack against the heroes arms and if they locked on never let go. By keeping the heroes within arms reach they gained the advantage of bringing their strength against the weaker heroes in melee combat. Once interlocked, the hunters would swing towards the neck and head of the heroes to incapacitate them.

The final attack on Alice allowed the larger, faster hunter to remove her from the fight almost immediately. He attack her back and would grapple a cloth bag over her. If she avoided the attack his tactic would remain the same as the hunters who fought against Bliss and Frost, otherwise he would merely grab the bag by where her head should be, and lunge it towards the ground with one forceful blow.

Nina snarled thickly and balled up her fists, arms bowed and legs in a taught stance that showed just how bitter and eager she was for bloodshed. The cross words of those around her were enough to get her on edge, but adding in the circumstances and the events of the day, it only served to be the metaphorical lighter fluid that was liberally poured into the flame of her anger.

Before she had a chance to retort, a blow struck her temple and sent pinpricks of light flashing across her eyes and brain, a heated ache filling up the side of her head as she spun to the side and stumbled from both the suddenness and ferocity of the strike. Before she could recover, hands tightly gripped her arm and pinned it to her back. In a blind fury, her other flailed out and felt satisfaction as it collided with flesh, sending her attacker sprawling. Fingers pinched into the meat of her forearm, pressing it further into her spine, making her groan and buckle slightly. As a brawler, she wasn't exactly accustomed to finding an even match when it came to strength. Her free hand jerked back, and much to her relief she grabbed the assailants shoulder, digging her fingertips in and yanking forward, pulling him onto her back as she bent over, stopping just as she felt his feet leave the ground. With a grin, her head still fuzzy from the initial attack, she readied herself for a high-powered, high-flying leap into the ceiling, hoping to squish this enemy like a bug.

Little did she realize that as this squabble went on, the other hunter had been making his way forward, hands grabbing like a greedy child at her throat. His digits pressed into her windpipe, making her eyes bug and mouth gape for air. She stumbled, dragging the man on her back as the other fought to keep his grip. The hunter weighed heavy on her, making her knees tremble as her world began to darken at the edges, the cacophony of the various battles around her growing softer and softer with each moment. Her hand released the hunters shoulder, instead prying at the fingers at her pale throat. His strength held true, and in her final moments before she passed out, she experienced brief satisfaction when she felt no less than three of her foes fingers shatter under her palm.

The Heroes Compilation - Page 2 Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Archer Roland September 1st 2011, 12:03 am

Frost watched the expressions of the girls before him which had his back on the unseen foes that lurked in the darkness. His defenses were raised but they would do him no good in the coming fight. The boy never saw or heard if his speech to the young girl was heard of not because of the things that chose that moment to strike. The things were fast, faster than anyone the hero had ever seen, and on top of that they were very skilled fighters being able to sneak up on the boy with what seemed to be no effort.

The monster’s first strike was directly for the boy’s head, grabbing him and squeezing good and hard. Frost let out a grunt from surprise and pain but after that he gave no indication of the pain he felt. The monster seemed to be distracted by something, what distracted him was unknown to the hero, giving him only a few seconds to act on so that he could hopefully save his life. “Get off me,” Frost almost yelled to the thing as he placed his hands onto the thing’s forearm and focused his power. The hand froze clean through and with a well-placed and well trained punch he broke the hand with little effort.

Once he hit the ground, Frost looked around to see that the others had their own problem to face and as he was about to help the youngest of their group by throwing an icicle at the beast the monster that had attacked him hit him in the back. The blow was enough to throw the boy against the wall causing him to hit has head very hard. Things got blurry, making things harder to focus on, and everything began to spin. The boy hit the ground hard and all he could feel was the monster picking him up by his shirt and dragging him in some direction as the room began to get dark.

(Just pretend this is the right account please)

Alice glared at Bliss, ignoring everything else around her. As she opened her mouth to speak again though, something hit her behind, grappling a cloth bag over her. She struggled in vain, attempting to use her powers to escape. It was too bright for her to "see" what was happening though, but she heard sounds of struggle around her as well, meaning that she wasn't the only one getting attacked.

"Get off me!" she yelled, throwing out a random shadow attack. She heard Nofuretsu in her head telling her to calm down, but it was too late. The attack must have hit the monster somewhere vital, because it dropped her. For a moment, she felt nothing but triumph. But then, she hit her head on a large chunk of rubble and with that, everything went dark.

The Heroes Compilation - Page 2 Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Bliss September 8th 2011, 2:35 am

The hunters dragged them into the dark…

Within the confines of the fallen mall a pale skinned scientist made his home. The sealed doors opened as the scientist flipped a switch. He made his laboratory here weeks ago, and scavenged materials from the different places to make this place safe for him. The hunters dropped the four heroes on the ground. They had restrained their hands behind their backs with Clement brand wrist binders that were claimed ‘escape proof.’ The scientist walked over to his bench and grabbed four neural collars to neutralize the powers from the quartet. They snapped into place along the necks of Nina, Jack, and Bliss, but Alice’s only hung on the hinge of the latch. Out of all four, only Alice retained any power.

“This one.” He brushed the bangs out of Bliss’s face. “Take the others and put them in place.”
The hunters grabbed the three heroes and carried them out of the room. All three hunters took the heroes to different places of the mall, creating a triangulated perimeter with the lab in the middle. To carry out their sacrificial and scientific purposes, the hunters taped a bomb to each of the hero’s torsos, trapping their arms to their sides. The bombs presented no restraint greater than mere tape if someone came to their rescue. They finally restrained the legs of the subjects with the patented Clement binders on their ankles.

Time for the control factor of the experiment. The scientist needed to gain perspective on how these creatures used perception. Heat vision, ultra-sonic hearing, maybe sonar; it did not matter, but he needed to know.

He needed Jack to make a large amount of noise, so he decided on placing her in a burning room. The flames and heat would kill him before he awoke if he set her room ablaze, so he instructed his subject to set fire to the show room in front of the store on fire. The lurching man poured a line of gasoline that lead from outside of the store into the showroom. Within twenty minutes the showroom would be encompassed in flames, and slowly the smoke and fires would seep under the door that lead to the back room that Jack found himself in. The room contained a door on opposite walls; one door lead to the show room, the other lead to the back hallway that held access to the backroom of every store in the inner complex of the mall.

For Nina he needed absolute quiet. His subject taped her mouth shut and left her alone in the back room of one of the stores that shared a connected hallway with the store Alice was trapped in. If the creatures found Nina silent and out of sight, it would speak to the level of perception the creatures possessed. "Some hero..." The humanoid muttered. "Should've been them and not us..."

In his last experiment, the subject carried Alice to the show floor of the store of a store on the other side of the mall complex, but still interconnected by the back hallway the stores on the inner circle shared. This one contained more special qualities to it. Wanting to test the eye sight of these creatures, the creature placed Alice in the show window with her placed inside of a thermal bag.

On the way back to the lab within the center of the mall, a dire event found one of the subjects. Through the walls a shrieking death filled the emptiness. His screams encompassed an agony that lasted for a short amount of seconds that seemed to last a lifetime. Screeching nails grinded along the ground as the sounds of someone dragging a body out of the back hallway made set upon the environment. After the initial dismemberment of the pour subject the sounds of movement outside of the mall would begin again.

From the storefront Alice could hear the screams of the creature in between her and the backroom that held Valkyrie. From down the hall, a small amount of gray smoke signaled the way to the back room that held Jack. The hallway circled around the security room that the scientist made into his laboratory, and only one door would reach his inner sanctum from the hallway.

Bliss awoke to a sudden pain in her wrist. The scientist clamped her wrists and ankles to an observation table. A number of familiar machines lined the counter next to her, blocked by the subjects that assaulted them earlier. Video monitors lined the back wall of the room; the scientist must have converted the security hub of the mall into his laboratory. “You’re awake. Good.” A coldness ran across her cheek, causing Bliss to recoil in futility.

“What is this place?” She spoke in an angered tone. Her eyes narrowed under the rancor of her brow.

“I’ll ask the questions.” He popped his knuckles. “Soon enough that is.”

“You’re going to just talk to yourself, because I don’t know anything. Where are the others?” Bliss moved her head, disregarding his previous statement.

“I’ll indulge you on that, because I am quite proud of that. I’m testing to see just how these nanobot possessed creatures use different perceptions organs, so I’ve left your friends out as bait to draw them in. I figure whichever one draws the most attention, that’s a good way of determining how they work. And, since I don’t want to be overrun with these things, I’ve strapped a bomb to all three of them. Once the creatures enter the room to devour your friends, I’ll merely detonate the bomb and kill everyone inside of that room.”

“That’s sick. They are just your experiments?" A shock rang into her neck.

“That collar around your neck keeps your powers neutralized. The shock is merely something Clement
added for sadism.”

“Even with my powers gone, I still won’t tell you anything.” A cold laugh came from the man after Bliss’s comment.

“I never said I was going to ask you any questions, now did I?” Heat brushed across her face from the exhaust fan of the computer. So familiar, yet how could anyone recreate her machine. “…Miss Fokukama.” How did he know her name? “I don’t need to ask you any questions. You filled them all in for me.”

“How do you know that…”

“There is the Clement company that has kept an eye on you since your run in with Dr. Clement, I’m sorry, I mean Dr. Cosmos.” He ran off the last name of the villain with humor at such a cliché criminal name. “Then again, I always knew about this machine.” He flipped the computer on. “You showed me how to use it.” She only showed one man how to use it.

“You can’t be…” Unnerve rang out of Bliss’s voice.

“The father to an ungrateful, little bitch whom has no quarrels relating to patricide, why yes I am.” Bliss looked over the pale man. His white skin and blue eyes, no way this could be Dr. Fokukama. “I suppose you want to know how this came about, correct? Well the Clement corporation makes it no secret that they want technology without morals, so that birthed their interest into you. After the incident you shared with your idiot friend, she became suspect number one for them. That then connected you to her. They tracked down your background and located the apartment you used as a safe house for your experiment; they found out about your operation and copied everything, including my consciousness. I remained within the ghost banks of the computer via an uplink cable, and waited until someone attempted to interface with the computer. Then I extracted my revenge and claimed their body. Dr. Stirges or some nonsense, now I return to this world to find it on the brink of giving me more than I could ever dream of.” His gaze turned from the machine to Bliss. “That’s where I need you.”
The steel grasp kept her held down to her fate. “I…”

“No, no…” The doctor laughed at his daughter. “I don’t need you to do anything other than encompass time and space.”

“…I…” Her voice cracked into a cry.

“It will all be over soon enough.”

The Heroes Compilation - Page 2 Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Valkyrie September 8th 2011, 2:59 am

Air crackled into the girls previously clamped throat, burning it with a foreign soreness that made her wince. Her head pounded from the oxygen deprivation, but before she could begin to take her surroundings in, fear stabbed into her when she discovered her mouth wouldn't open. A few test gapes revealed that it was taped or otherwise shut, but before she could squeal or grunt a powerful wave of lethargy swept over her from the base of her neck all the way to her feet. Her eyelids fluttered, and her once taught body laid limply once more on the cold tile.

- - -

Tense, silent, undisturbed, and pristine moments passed; that is, until a scream pierced the air that would have stilled the bravest of hearts. Her eyes snapped open, taking in every detail of the dark room, her forehead drenched in a sour sweat. It was full of cardboard boxes, some empty and on their sides, others full to the brim or overflowing with sports merchandise like baseball gloves or special deodorants for your shoes. No enemies here, and almost like clockwork, the moment her heart rate accelerated, another wave of calm and weakness swallowed up her fear and anger. It didn't take a lot of wiggling for the girl to discover that her wrists and ankles were bound, and with a soft grunt, she noted that her boots were missing; more than likely removed so that her captor could bind her feet.

Mistake number 1: He, she, whoever it was, took her combat boots.

A gift from her father, the footwear held more of her love and respect than her companions, and as a third rush of forced relaxation sapped the strength from her muscles, she grimaced and rolled onto her back, a cold ball of shock accreting when she felt a weight on her gut. It took all of her will and effort to crane her neck and stare at the wad of electronics that was taped to her bare stomach. She would have been embarrassed about the fact that her entire torso was now laid bear under what should have been a buttoned up shirt, but suddenly such a thing seemed a trifle, as did her stockinged feet, the moment she heard a clattering sound in the store beyond. The collar around her neck gave her another dose of electricity, the voltage effectively making her once all-powerful muscle as useful as rice paper. Tears of exertion and fear welled up in her eyes, and in an unsettling decision, Nina made up her mind to try and make peace with the dear and fluffy Lord that her mother had talked about every Sunday morning.

God... She thought, If these are my last moments, then I want to apologize for anything I did to piss you off, like not believing in you and stuff. Another sound, this time a soft scrape, slipped underneath the door and into her ears. Don't let me die, Lord. She pleaded, brow knitting while she tried to withstand the numbing shocks that came from the collar around her neck, Not until I've kicked the ass of whoever wrapped me up and threw me in here.

The Heroes Compilation - Page 2 Empty Re: The Heroes Compilation

Post by Archer Roland September 9th 2011, 12:06 am

Frost awaken as he was being carried into what appeared to be a computer store of somekind, or at least that what it had once been. The shelves had been cleaned off some time ago from what had to have been some form of rioting after the disconnection from the rest of the world. The being that carried him was the same one that had attacked him as he did not have the arm the hero had removed earlier. The thing brought him to a simple door that had the all too familiar sign that read ‘Employees Only’ and it opened the door and tossed him inside the rather large room with little more than a grunt.

After a moment or two, Frost sat up. Having taken his time to get his bearings, so he would not wind up making some foolish mistake that might cost him his life or the life of one of his teammates, he then felt the number of restraints on his body. There were restraints keeping his hands behind his back and keeping his legs together at the ankles along with something around his neck, the purpose for that was beyond the boy for the moment. Taking a moment to concentrate, Frost began to chill his restraints so they would be easier to break, but nothing happened. There was no cold sensation or any sensation other than pain and stress in the young hero’s arms. One of the restraints was preventing him from using his powers.

Shimmying on his hands and knees, the boy made his way over to the door closest to him, over to the door he had been thrown through and knew something was not right from the smoke coming from underneath the door and the heat that emanated from the other side, touching his forehead to the door only confirmed his fears. There was a fire, which would only get larger from the amount of wood in the store being burned, and a big one at that. Rolling to his side, the young martial artist brought his arms under his legs so that he could have a more natural range of motion and began to shimmy, although a little faster this time, to what appeared to be another door but it was of no use as it was locked from the other side.

Frost banged against the door with all of his might but without the help of his powers there was nothing the young hero could do to escape from the room. With all of the strength the young boy had in his lungs he yelled out for some sort of help. It did not take long for the smoke coming from the sales floor to make everything all the more difficult to breath. It seemed that without the help of someone soon there would be well done hero in the room Frost now sat in. This day seemed to only be able to get better and better, how had Frost ever been so lucky before.
