The big apple

Nightkill nodded, and looked at his watch. "Well, look at the time. I have to run now, I'll contact you later." he said, shaking hands, getting in a car, and leaving.

Adriano turned around and began walking away from the coffee shop. He thought about what that one girl said. Never did get her name. He began to think it might be a good idea to catch up with her. She knew something. That information could benefit him. So he began to walk to the direction she had gone. Hopefully, she was still reachable.

Marcus sat on his manager's filthy old plaid couch, nearly braking the desperately curved frame with his massive size. The short fat hairy man paced back and forth, kicking random garbage out of his way as he went. His manager's name was Phil Levine and Phil was a horrible little troll of a man by all accounts. He stood no more that five feet tall and was easily that big around. He was generally unbathed and had the smell of sour milk and cigar smoke about him. His nose was bulbous and swollen from years of alcohol abuse and he could be caught knuckle deep in it most any time you looked at him.

"What am I gonna do with ya kid?...Huh? They ain't gonna let ya wrassle no mo...Ya blew it...Blew yer only shot a the title...Shit being a Meta is way worse than being found with roids in yer system! The commision won't sanction Meta's , to dangerous!" Phil grumbled at the huge man, eying him angrily.

"I never want to ...'Wrassle" in the first place Phil...that was your idea...It's unbecoming for a God anyway...I need to get out on the streets and start my crusade to bring back the lost glory of my former mantle." Marcus said in a completely flat tone.

"HA! You ain't a God kid...Yer just another Meta human, A dime-a-friggin-dozen! And after that stunt you pulled at the press conference the court ordered you to see the head-shrink or do jail time....Soooo now your gonna keep your head down and do as your told! I ain't gonna have ya blow my chance at the big leagues, Your my golden ticket into the 'bigs' and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let you blow it. Phil Levine...famous Supe' manager...I can see it now...up in lights!" Phil had started to pontificate to himself flourishingly sweeping his hand through the air to express his point.

"I don't need a psychiatrist Phil, I need to wage war....And that incedent would have never happened if Bonecrusher hadn't called me out. He said I could have never won against him with out my powers....and we both know I wasn't about to take that laying down." Marcus growled, his temper boiling and just about to break, even at remembering the slight against him.

"Alright big fella...alright...don't go erupting in my pad! We take care of it...Ol' Phil 'the pill' is gonna take care of his boy...Don't you worry bout that! You just get ready for your Appointment with Dr. 'Hotpants'" Saying it made phil giggle. " And I'll see what I can do about getting you some hero work...OK?"

Adriano had seen the girl up at a distance. She was looking in his direction too, so surly she saw him as well. He didn't take his eyes off her. He didn't buy that "I am a normal girl" bit at all. She was there to hear a large portion of his conversation with that other guy. It was all too coincidental.
"Looking for me?" He had asked as he approached her.

"I have a lot of friends. could we be more specific?"

"Alex" Adriano replied to her.
"and if you can take a brief moment from your giggle fit, might I have the pleasure of knowing yours?"
He began to think she was mocking him.

"Eclipse you say? I see" He responded.
In his head, he would continue with "is that because of your nature to loom over others business?"

"He was just some guy who wanted to past the time so he started to talk to me randomly. I figured he was just some crazy tourist. You know, kind of like you."

"Crazy and Brave aren't the same thing. Some of us don't fear what is in the dark. Do you?"
As she checked the schedule, he looked up to the city lights once again.
"I am not going anywhere. I am just killing time right now. Looking at the glorious art. Most people simply pass this by without a second glance; without feeling or thoughts. It's depressing, frankly."
