Sword Of Willpower

Name: Sword Of Willpower
Abilities: When Eric stopped Death from taking his very soul, Eric had inadvertently pulled something back with him. The sword can cut through any mundane substance granted Eric has a high enough willpower and strength.
Description: The sword itself is virtually indestructible. The handle has no guard, is stripped with two stripes of gold, and has a long double edge blade with no center.

I underlined the word 'Mundane' to specify that the sword can only cut through mundane substances. To define the word mundane I hereby declare that in this context it means 'relating to the world or worldy matters'. If you stick to this definition, you got my blessing and my seal of approval on this weapon.

wouldn't a conversation be considered a worldly matter? so he could cut through a conversation? "yeah so me and meg were going to the movies and I was like-" "HAZZAH!!" ..... "dude we were having a conversation and you just like cut right into it man" "yeah I know, its me sword, it does that"

Metaphorical isn't the same as actual. I mean a material substance; wall, water, ect.
As long as it can be seen, and is not magical, I should be able to cut it.
