Post by The Clergyman December 11th 2012, 8:31 pm

Real Name: Levi Merrian Ashton
Renegade/Hero/Villain Name: The Clergyman
Title: Doctor, The Grim Reaper, Charon, The Witch Doctor, Witch, Dr. Ashton Jr.
Alignment: True Neutral
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Race: Witch
Hair: Blond
Eyes: Black, hollow-looking.
Height: 5"2
Weight: 95 lbs.
Blood type: AB

Character Image/Character Costume Image (Or Description): While being 26, Levi still looks 13 due to a disease. He is most often seen with his giant teddy bear/nurse/assistant named Teddy, to the point where it could be considered part of his costume. He normally wears a dark green waist coat over a white dress shirt, and a long black overcoat on top, along with black dress pants, black loafers, and a top hat, all adjusted to fit his small body.

Spoiler:

Personality: Levi is very serious and mature, yet very sarcastic at the same time. Thus sometimes it's hard to tell if he's joking or not. He prefers to avoid fights and simply observe them instead, though he wont hold back his punches. He keeps himself at a strict neutral so he doesn't let anything stop him from treating others. To him, as long as someone is injured, they're a patient, nothing else, not even if they've killed hundreds of people. He gets real annoyed when people treat him like a child, so he strives to act as much of an adult as possible.

History:

Levi is the fifth child of a family of witches. His family lived in a pocket dimension inside of a grand castle. But Levi was not loved by his four siblings. His father, Dr. Ashton Sr. loved his wife dearly, but it all ended when he discovered she was having an affair. After an argument, she left and Dr. Ashton and his children never saw her again. One year later, Dr. Ashton received a phone call, and shortly after, left for the entire night. When he returned, he had a baby in hands. This baby was Levi, the child of Dr. Ashton's wife and the man she left him for. Growing up, Levi kept to himself, burying himself in his fathers extensive library and studying the arts of medicine and herbalism, which suited his siblings just fine. To them, Levi was the reason there mother had left them, so they'd either play nasty tricks on him or would just ignore him.

Strangely, his father doted on him very much, most likely because of how much Levi looked like his mother, and thus was all Dr. Ashton had left of his wife. He'd help Levi with his research, and even give him gifts in approval of his hardwork and dedication. Whenever Levi felt ashamed of his height, as his disease meant he could only grow a fraction of an inch a year, his father would be there to comfort him, which only made his siblings spite worse. But as Levi was nearing his preteen years, Dr. Ashton's behavior became more and more peculiar. He'd hole himself up in his studies for days on end, barely eating or sleeping, and when he roamed the hall of their home he'd always be muttering under his breath. He began to collect strange items: gallons of blood, dark charms, wolf's bones. The children had no idea what this was all for, but grew more and more worried everyday. Once Levi turned 11, they found they were right for being worried. Unbeknownst to his kids, Dr. Ashton wasn't just madly in love with his wife, he was obsessed with her, which is why she started seeing someone else. And he would do anything to make her be in love with him again. Even sacrifice the souls of his children to a demon, which is exactly what he did. What happened that night would scar Levi forever.

Dr. Ashton had come into the library with two cups of tea for, and Levi, who was quite thirsty after all his reading, gladly accepted. After finishing all of it off, Levi soon grew tired and fell asleep. When he woke up, he did not expect to find himself tied up and gagged with a symbol smeared on his forehead in blood lying inside a magic circle along with his other siblings while his father chanted a demon summoning in the attic of the house. So he was, of course, terrified. Poor Levi tried his best to escape, but by then it was too late. Dr. Ashton had completed the chant and the demon had arrived. His father told the demon what he wanted, and the demon accepted his offer. Levi could feel something being pulled from his very being, and he realized his father had offered the demon their souls. As the pain got worse and he started the scream, the pain suddenly stopped as part of his soul was taken from him, but the other half remained. All his other siblings were already dead, yet he was still alive. He saw his father arguing with the demon, and then start screaming as it descended on him instead.

After the demon had taken his fathers soul, it casually walked over to Levi and cut open his bonds with its nails, not being very careful and leaving scratches that would turn into scars. it gave Levi back the remaining half of his soul and told him that it could not take his soul as he was too young of a sacrifice, so in order to compensate he took his fathers soul instead. The demon politely apologized for taking the souls of his family, and that it would give something as proof of his apology. It looked around the attic, and found a large teddy bear. It took the teddy bear and summoned a low-level demon to its side, which it grasped firmly by the neck and dragged both items over to Levi. He scratched Levi's hand to take some blood, slightly against Levi's will, and bound the demon to the teddy bear, the blood making it forever loyal to Levi. After that was done it left Levi there in the attic, surrounded by the corpses of his family, and only a silent 4"9 teddy bear to keep him company. Needless to say, Levi was never the same after that. He buried himself in the library, pouring over the texts as he read about herbs, magical afflictions, and more. He spent long hours experimenting and testing, learning how to sense demons and how to make charms to keep them away. He grew herbs in the garden, doing everything only with the help of the bear he named Teddy. Eventually he discovered he could 'possess' objects, as after the demon had given back his soul, it never really reformed completely, and he could now put half his soul in other objects. He didn't step out of the pocket dimension he lived in even once, having never felt the need to. 15 years later, Levi realized his knowledge would never be of any use to anyone if he didn't go out into the world, and so he packed up his equipment, spruced up Teddy, and walked out the large doors of his house for the first time into the unknown.

Power(s):
Object Possession- Levi can 'possess' an object and control its actions. He can hear and 'see' out of this object from all angles, but everything is in black and white. Physical contact is required to possess an object, and he can let go of it by will. If the object is torn in half, one half will remain possessed while the other is let go. The object will also be let go if it is severely damaged, or if Levi is knocked out. He is always aware of how far the possessed item is, but it cannot go past a radius of 250 yards. If Levi attempts to go outside of the 250 radius, he'll feel great pain the more he strains.

Spell Casting- can cast spells of different effects.

Levi has a vast knowledge of the medical field. He specializes in magically inflicted conditions, such as curses, hexes, or demon possessions, but is also an expert in the treatment of more common ailments. Instead of using modern day medicines, he prefers using herbs and plants while he works. He can also create numerous poisons with his vast herb storage he keep in his doctor's kit. Many would view him as a witch for the potions he can make and his dealings in the mystic workings of the world. He is not recognized as an official doctor though, as he has never gone to a medical school recognized by the state.

Spells:
Minor Heating-creates a small 'orb' of heat in the casters hand about the size of a tennis ball. Touching it is like touching a toaster while it's on, it can't do too much damage, but it leaves a sting. It is usually used outside of combat, perhaps to heat up a cup of tea or to warm up during a cold day, but it certainly makes for a good distraction. Lasts for one post, 2 post cool-down.

Minor Summoning- allows Levi to summon whatever is in his doctors bag to his hand ( if it's in the bag) by saying "Come forth, (insert object)!" It only works for objects in his bag, and he has to be specific about what he wants. For example, if he just says 'herb', nothing will happen as there are several herbs in his bag.

Adult Illusion- a spell Levi uses to look like what he would if he grew normally, so he can gain access to things other people his age would normally be able to access.

Minor Shock- gives a minor shock to who/whatever Levi is touching, not enough to do damage, but perhaps enough to stabilize someone heart enough to keep them from death.
