After using her powers excessively over the course of several years, Penny became subjected to a life threatening illness. The more she used her powers the closer it brought her to death’s doorstep. Needless to say the young woman didn’t take the news lightly and decided if she was going to die, she was going to go out with a bang. This lead to her leading a very self-destructive lifestyle and attitude adjustment. To go along with all the changes, Penny revamped her image.

Instead of constantly dying her hair different colors, she decided to go with her natural hair color which is dirty blonde. Her hair style also ended up changing as well, no longer did she shave only one side of her head, instead she cut the sides and back of her head very short and then trimmed the top, leaving a small Mohawk.

One of the many changes that came along with the onset of her mysterious illness, was that Penny dropped a lot of weight and muscle mass due to her loss of strength and overall frailty. This resulted in her having a very worn looking face, as her eyes are slightly sunken and less lively that they once were, and her cheekbones are also more prominent as well.  

The last change to her appearance during this phase of her life was that she abandoned all the bright and eccentric colored clothes that once lined her closet for a much darker pallet and style of clothing. She can almost always be found wearing either a tank top, t-shirt, cut off tank top, or a long sleeve leotard, all of which are either black, blood red, or charcoal. She wears a variety of black jeans, all of which look extremely worn and have several cuts and tears lining the legs. She uses a studded black leather belt to suspend her pants on her thin frame. As far as footwear goes she either wears a pair of black leather boots, or a variety of dark colored sneakers. Penny round off her revamped wardrobe with a black leather jacket.

Penny now also sports 3 ear piercings in her left ear, with one in the right, and an assortment of necklaces and silver rings.  



The Legacy



Personality:
Penny is a very happy and cheerful individual that remarkably seems to never have a bad day or let anything get her down. Even being disowned by her parents didn't get her down, she chose to leave and wanted nothing to do with anyone who didn't want her to be happy. Those that know the eccentric arcade owner would say she's the true definition of a gamer, confident, cocky, and a massive wise ass. Penny has no issue telling people what's on her mind, or flaunting her superiority. That said, Penny is a caring individual who wears her heart out on her sleeve.

Penny is above all a social animal and thrives on being around others, she cannot stand being alone, or being in silence. Aside from her obvious love of games, her need for social interaction is what truly drove her to opening up her own arcade that she keeps open 24/7 and has grown to be quite popular and successful.

One could also say that Penny is a very restless person, she is always doing something, always staying active. Penny is constantly looking for things to keep herself occupied, be it letting off steam by working out, managing her arcade, or roaming the streets in search of bad guys to beat the tar out of.

Penny is a very hard working, and very hard headed person, refusing to take no for an answer, she will press on until she's met her goal. Case and point being her Arcade, with no support from her parents, Penny had to take out a loan in order to open up the shop, but in just a few short years she has managed to repay her debt and run a thriving business.

After finding out that her power had left her with a crippling illness that was slowly killing her, Penny’s normal happy go lucky demeanor changed. Though aspects of her old self shine through now that she has been “saved” by the demon goddess of war Madeline, Penny has become sort of wild mixed with a bit of cynicism. That is to say that those who knew her before would say she was carefree, but now she takes that to a whole different level, to the point of just not really caring. She’s become extremely reckless and held little regard for her life, even more so now that she signed the Champion’s contract.

Her outlook now is, if you’re not having fun your just not living, though her idea of fun has changed quite a bit.

History:
Penny was born to a wealthy family, both of her parents went into business together when they were younger, creating one of the world's leading R&D labs. Growing up, Penny's parents had high expectations for her, hoping that she would follow in their footsteps and become a scientist just like them. Things did not go how they expected, though Penny was smart and excelled in school, none of the subjects interested her, she was a renegade and enjoyed having fun, not being locked in a room studying. She showed a natural talent and admiration for games at an early age, starting out with chess then graduating to consoles and computers as she got older. Penny had a knack for playing fighting games and RPGs, which became her two favorite genres. Penny's love for games over schooling made her clash with her parents often, who eventually let it slide after realizing she was doing exceedingly well in school.

One day while locked away in her room, Penny was so fed up with studying that she just stared at the page for hours, instead of flipping through it to study for a test she had the next day. Needless to say, to her surprise she aced the test the next day, she had known the answer to every question despite not studying or paying attention in class. This event prompted her to experiment a bit, and she eventually learned that she had grinded in real life. This discovery led her to test out just what else she was capable of and she soon realized she could exploit game mechanics in real life. From that moment on she lived her life how she wanted, she began exploring mechanics that she could use to help her skate through life, her favorite being the grind.

Penny would often times sneak out of her house and visit a nearby arcade. This was something that got Penny going, she enjoyed playing games, they were fun, and she was good at them, she even entered several tournaments, becoming the reigning champion for three years in a row, before her parents shipped her off to college. While in college Penny continued to excel in her classes, placing in the top percentage of her classes. Eventually Penny graduated, and her parents offered her a job at their lab, however, she declined their offer, and moved to the west coast of the United States where she opened "The Penny Arcade". While not at the arcade managing, Penny can be seen playing hero, using her unique power to save and protect people whenever possible.

Despite Penny’s arcade being extremely successful, the young woman couldn’t help but still close up shop every night and head out to play hero. Sadly, this excessive use of her power ended up having extreme adverse effects on her body. Over the course of several years, Penny became subjected to a life threatening illness. The more she used her powers the closer it brought her to death’s doorstep. Penny didn’t take the news all too well and eventually spiraled out of control. She began to live a reckless life style. She closed down the arcade and turned it into a bar. She even purchased the building adjacent to the bar and converted it into an illegal fighting area, where she would participate in multiple fights nightly, hoping that one of them would be her last.

Where most people would try and preserve what precious time they had left, Penny looked to shorten hers in any way imaginable. She became a heavy drink, and picked up smoking as a filthy little habit. Her newly developed chaotic nature and self-destructive lifestyle made her shine and draw a lot of attention. This eventually led to the demon queen of Arcadia being drawn to the young woman. Knowing that Penny would be hard to win over, Madeline pulled out all the stops and did her best to befriend the dying ex-hero.

Penny and Madeline eventually grew close over the course of several months, uncharacteristically of the demon queen, Madeline felt pity for the young woman but also felt infatuated by her as well, and truly saw her as a dear friend. Madeline eventually offered to “save” Penny’s life. Madeline would take the opportunity to turn Penny into the first champion of Arcadia in several millennia. Penny would be granted a portion of the hellish realms powers, but would lose her old powers in the process. On deaths door, immortality at the cost of her powers seemed like a steal. Penny would sign the champion’s contract and would become Arcadia’s first champion in a long while.

With a new lease on life, Penny regained some of her former cheeriness and decided she would continue to play the hero. Madeline had no objections, simply stating that the contract was a gift for a dear friend, and she was free to do what she willed with her newfound powers.



The Powers and Weaknesses



Powers

Power 1: Spirit of Arcadia- After discovering that her powers were killing her, Penny began to lead a self-destructive life style. Her reckless behavior and negative demeanor caught the attention of one very enigmatic demon queen. After hanging out for several days, Madeline made a conscious decision to save the girls life by making her Arcadia’s first champion in millennia. The abilities granted to Penny through her contract with Madeline whipped away her old powers and replaced them with a sinister transformation and revamped healing factor.

-The healing factor granted to Penny overwrites her old one, but functions relatively the same. Cuts and minor damage heals in a matter of seconds. More severe wounds such as severed limbs, destroyed or damaged organs take minutes to hours to heal based on the extent of the wound.

The transformation Penny can undergo turns her into a flaming skeleton. Her clothes remain miraculously unscathed. In this form Penny’s bones take on a charred tone rather than appearing white, and her flesh and muscles are replaced with raging flames.
The bonuses and powers granted to Penny through her contract are functional outside of her transformation.


    A: Super Strength: By accepting the contract with Madeline, the demon goddess of war, Penny has become the first champion of Arcadia in a long while. By becoming a champion of Arcadia, Penny may have lost her old powers, but she now has all the power of the hellish real of Arcadia behind her, granting her superhuman strength. Penny’s new found strength allows her to lift upwards of 10k tons. Penny is capable of ripping sheets of steel apart as if they were paper and her punches have enough force behind them to splinter a telephone pole.

    B: Super Durability: The second power or ability granted to Penny via the champion’s contract is a level of durability that rivals what Madeline’s once was. However, unlike the demon queen’s durability, Penny’s does not apply to her skin. Instead It’s her skeleton that is made nearly indestructible. While in her human form bullets, blades, explosions, ect can all pierce her skin and damage the organs underneath, while her skeleton remains unharmed. Penny’s demonic durability grants her skeleton and her transformed state resistance to just about everything but magic. This means her skeleton is able to withstand a beating from a being with super strength(to a degree), extreme heats, colds, ballistics, blades and energies.

    C: Arcadian Fire Manipulation: The last and final gift granted to Penny through her Champion’s contract with Madeline is a form of fire manipulation that allows her to not only manipulate any flame she sees, but also allows her to generate her own fire and even infuse everyday objects with this sinister fire, this includes just about anything she can get her hands on, even vehicles and firearms. She is even capable of manipulating the fire that her transformation is composed of. While in her transformed state her touch is extremely hot, though it will not cause burns it will cause some discomfort and an obvious increase in temperature of those unfortunate enough to be caught in her skeletal grasp (PC permission required). Penny is able to generate flames up to a total of 20ft away from her body, be it in the form of a small combustion explosion or a shearing hot trail or pool of fire.



Weakness(es)

Weakness 1: Magic: By signing the Champion’s Contract, Penny’s skeleton took on a level of durability that made it virtually indestructible versus all manner of harm. That being sad, the durability is rendered completely null and void when it comes to protecting the young woman against any magical abilities or attacks.

Weakness 2: Water: As one would guess, the fire generated by Penny can be put out if subjected to copious amounts of water. Any item she infuses, if doused in water will lose its fiery buff and will be unable to be reignited for a short time (3 posts). The only thing unaffected by water is the fire that consumes her body when transformed.

Weakness 3: Silver: If a silver weapon or object is used to harm Penny while in her normal unchanged state, it will halt and slow down her healing factor. Thus preventing her from recovering rapidly from any harm inflicted by silver.

Weakness 4: Mind Control: While Penny is in her normal form, she is susceptible to being mind controlled. She can be forced to do things against her will but cannot be compelled or controlled to killer herself. Any attempt to have her harm herself or any instance that she is severely injured while under mind control will cause her to automatically transform and free her from the mind control.

A Girl Knows How To Get Around: As a champion of Arcadia, Penny has access to some of the same abilities as the demon goddess herself. As a result, Penny is capable of opening portals, and teleporting herself and others around the world.

Immortality: Being that she is currently Arcadia’s sole champion, and as part of the little package of gifts granted to Penny through the signing of the Champion’s Contract, Penny is immortal. In the even that she is killed in a thread, she will revive shortly after the topic has concluded. In the event that her entire body is destroyed, the energies of Arcadia will pull together and reform their glorious champion.

Constantly Hot: Though Penny can’t burn anyone with her touch, when out of her transformation, if any water comes in contact with her it will sizzle and evaporate. This also causes steam to rise off of her when it’s cold out, or when splashed with water.

Items/Minions

A Variety of Motorcycles: Well before Penny became sick, or converted her arcade into a bar, she used her leftover earnings to start a hobby. What was this hobby you ask? Why it was simply collecting motorcycles. Over the years Penny has stockpiled a small collection of seven different bikes. There is nothing unique about them on their own and they range from a chopper to a tuned up street bike.

Penny has the ability to infuse her bikes with Arcadian fire while she rides them. While infused the bikes themselves become indestructible.
